it must be close to the Zl1's times...
They also said feel free to take both the ZL1 and GT500 to the same track and run them. SVTPP is more than confident the GT500 will hold its own.

615rwhp is quite impressive. Zr1's typically dyno only 530 to 540rwhp!! I wonder if ford will ever bring back the gt.

Yep, imagine with a few more miles on it what it will do!

Same day.

Same dyno.

According to Rick @ Livernois, that particular ZL1 is the modded car that has already been in the 9's. They won't be doing back-to-back dyno runs.

with this thread only I have a hard time getting it to take me to the last page. Is anyone else having that problem? For example, I click 74 but I end up back on 73. It was like this yesterday too.

If my weekends weren't already booked with my 8 year old son's karting schedule I'd jump on this invitation. Perhaps in Sept/Oct.?

Well howdy, boss '9er.

You obviously missed the erroneous "mass produced cars are not rare" posting...but that's fine. It's difficult to have all the answers, all the time...isn't it?

BTW, thanks for bringing up the "horrendously overpriced '69 ZL1". Here's what I suggest you consider doing: go to the attached website and plug in $61,000 Year 2012 Dollars (the price of a necessarily-equipped 202 mph GT 500) and see what that equates to...

http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc....012&year2=1969

Answer: A Brand New 5/50-warranted ZL1 AND a Base '69 Camaro Coupe!

Horrendous, indeed!

BOSS 429 Cougar, eh? Ever seen this document, before? Feel free to save it...

And now for your history lesson LOWDOWN:

Ford built 859 Boss 429's in 1969, which included two Boss Cougars. The minimum for NASCAR homologation was indeed 500 for 1969, but Ford built more than that thinking they'd sell them, which was a bad idea because they had a hard time moving them. I should know, I own KK1912.

In 1970, Ford built exactly 500 Boss 429's, enough to meet homologation rules, and not a unit more (due to the stuggles in unloading the previous year's build).

They were assembled at Kar Kraft because the width of the engine required numerous modifications/changes from production in both steering and front aprons that would not have been practical on the moving assembly line.

But I've gotta ask, WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR POINT? Are you too dim to realize that the 1969 ZL1 was HUGELY more expensive than either the Boss 429 or the Charger 500??

You finish your inaccurate blabber with this comment that GM installed the ZL1 engine on the assembly line to cut costs, yet the ZL1 cost almost double the other two cars.

And what does ANY of it have to do with the FACT that both the 2012 ZL1 and 2007-2013 GT500's are mass-produced right on the same assembly lines, intermixed right along with their other more pedestrian brethren?

They are production cars, they don't go to any 3rd-party outfitter, period.
My dream is to locate one of the two, still unaccounted for Cougars. Forget Aston Martin's, Shelby's, Boss Mustangs and ZL1's.
