Arrow Nissan 370Z Full Test by Edmunds

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...opanel..1.*#10

Sounds pretty good to me. For some reason, I really think this thing can do 0-60 faster that 5.1. Probably more like 4.8 when a car mag tests it.

Either time sounds good to me. Look at it this way. Without a clock to time it, you wouldn't notice the 3/10th difference.

That synchro rev match is a pretty nice feature. I don't remember seeing it on a manual transmission before.

Just for the record...

"Overall, Nissan's engineering teams managed to slice 225 pounds out of the package, although the addition of safety features and convenience equipment put most of it back. In the end, the 2009 Nissan 370Z is only 95 pounds lighter than the 350Z it replaces."

I wonder if that is really apples to apples, if they are comparing a base 350 the a 370 that has some options weighing it down? The article says it has after market oil and dif coolers and the sport pack which includes bigger rubber and brakes. If I can get all that plus a bigger engine and still shave off 95lbs then I'm just about sold. If only they could have kept the back seat for my 3 year old.

Edited to add: I am guessing above that edmunds weighed the 370 tester to get 95 but Nissan told them 225.

That's probably the reason. Only way would be to compare a base 350Z's weight to that of the base 370Z w same tranny, etc...

Plus, there are only two 370Z models, so you get more stuff and weight with the entry 370Z compared to the lesser equipped entry 350Z.
