Who Is Buying?
Like the title says...who is buying a Z/28?
1. You are serious and stoked, you've already signed a buyers order and placed a deposit. You are locked in. Fess up and be proud. 2. You've got a half-assed handshake deal or word of mouth arrangement with your dealer "buddy" or some kind of otherwise non-written, non-binding "deal" which everyone else knows will end in a post here a year from now about how you "got screwed" because the dealer rep never got you a car, or asked for some crazy mark-up that killed your "deal". 3. Plan to buy but just lazy and/or haven't comprehended there are only going to be 1500 made. So, for example, only half of US dealers would get one car, or only the top 25% of all dealers will get two cars, there are several eye-opening ways to look at it. You'll scramble for an allocation once the order book opens late this year. 4. You hope you can pull off a purchase but only if the stars align and depends a million variables/excuses in regards to the car or in their lives. It is all going to depend on how things are in your world once the allocations are announced. |

Four would be my only hope....Maybe if the economy crashes, a winning lottery ticket, some guy has to sell one cheap, gets in over his head or whatever...No way I'm in now with an unknown price, etc....
Not gonna drive myself crazy over the whole thing, but will stay tuned for what happens in a year or so...will there be a '15 model...will there be a 6th Gen on a different platform, etc...a few factors that may have me looking more seriously down the road.... |

If you read through my past threads you'll question my not buying one. I've decided to either buy a 2014 1LE and add the Z/28 parts I want or buy a Z51.

Price...Price...Price. I am a car enthusiast and when I do track my cars it is 1/4 mile at a time. This was not the purpose of the Z/28 so it does not fit my need from a track perspective.
I have a ZL1 and love it. If I wanted to road course a car, my ZL1 would be more than adequate for my novice capabilities. HOWEVER, I want the Z/28 and if the price is right I will add it to my garage but I have made this decision....there is no way in hell I am getting rid of my ZL1. So...if I can get one. I will. But I am not getting rid of my ZL1 to be able to afford it. Not happening. |

...I am all in, and the thing that keeps me in the game is the "north of 56,5K" comment recently posted by Mr. O. To me, that has alot of weight to predict the price of what the production model will come in at....and it will not exceed the dire price predictions posted here on C5. Time will tell though. Otherwise, I am SOL.
