I was going to put Wide Ovals on my 4th gen until they told me they were summer tires...so I went with Bridgestone Potenza AE960 "Pole Positions" and was very happy with them....at the time they were rated pretty damn close to Goodyear F1's.
My buddy John at that Firestone has put Nittos on a few of his buddy's Mustangs and was impressed by their performance so far.......grip being much better for the amount of power being put to the rear...but the question would be the longevity of the tread. (probably a soft compound that would wear quickly)
The Invo's I have are W compound tires, 260 treadwear - better than the factory Zeros at 220 (the Y series Invos are 220 if you want stickier stuff). I think the difference is that the Zeros are an old, old compound/tread design, desperately in need of an update because a lot of other brands now perform/wear much better. Nitto is a sister brand of Toyo, who makes some serious race rubber.

Couldn't find Hankooks, Bridgestone, Firestone, or other brands in factory sizes. Just not a lot of choice with staggered rims. I wasn't about to put dump truck snow/ice tires on it (Bridgestone Blizzak, Pirelli Scorpion, etc.). Won't be driving in weather bad enough for them...

Hmm, sounds good! Didn't see those sizes on the Firestone site (http://www.firestonetire.com/product...k_Wide_Oval_AS), but sure enough they're listed at TireRack. I figured if Bridgestone didn't sell anything in our sizes, Firestone wouldn't (same company). Probably subconsciously avoided the Firestone name, still licking wounds from bad service at one of their shops years ago (Marrows Rd.)...

Let me know how they ride - if the Generals give me any grief, they might be the better alternative.

btw, still waiting to see if the 3rd is open...

I'll get a little more life out of them since they're rated for 40,000 miles. They are w rated and I think I got a pretty good deal on them- $900 total, on the rim and rolling.

Thanks for all the help.

Cool, good luck with them....... I will check with John and see how good that deal was they gave you.

I will have to get all seasons at some point.......these PZeros /summer tires... SUCK in the cold.

Cool Greg!!!

Update on the Cape May Cruise for this Saturday direct from FirstStateFBody:

OK, we have decided to meet at the WAWA located near the turn to the Ferry by 10:30 AM on Saturday the 27th. We are taking the 11:15 AM ferry to Cape May. Tix can be bought at the gate or online. Hope to see you there. Quick agenda is - Cruise on ferry and eat if you want. Get off ferry and cruise to lighthouse. Climb lighthouse if you want. Then figure out there what to do next. Cruise to Wildwood and hang out, eat, etc.. then cruise home. GPS is probally a good idea to bring just in case we get seperated or lost.

Update for the Nov 3rd meetup........ looks like 2pm at BWW..........
I hope to have the decals by then as well....I will update on any change in cost as well.

We hated to cancel, but we thought traffic out of the shore area would be bad with the evacuations. Also seas were getting rough. Maybe when we reschedule more ppl can come ?

Yeah, this storm will mess things up for a while down there I'm afraid........

All gonna depend on the date I guess. Maybe if it waits for Spring, I can set something up to meetup with some of South Jersey CC too.????? while we are in their area.......
