DYNO, INSTALL, DYNO, TUNE, DYNO
Hey guys I thought you would enjoy this info.
We are doing an install of ARE headers W/C and Maganaflow axle back then dyno tune using HP Tuners. We just baselined the car 5 pulls averaged for 370 RWHP and 370 RWTQ. with a best pull of 375 RWHP and 375 RWTQ and a hot soaked 360 RWHP and 360 RWTQ. We will install the exhaust systems then dyno again untuned then tune it and dyno again and post the results. We are video recording the highlights and will post a video in the next few days after we edit footage to keep it to down to the important stuff. Ted.

The Real Results No padding here
Starting with a fully warmed up engine strapped to the Superflow Chassis dyno, we did 5 pulls for each combination, took our average from each group and compared RWHP and RWTQ.
The American Racing headers W/Cs coupled to the Magnaflow Axle back system requires 2 stainless 2 1/2 inch pipes to connect the 2 systems 1-9 inches and 1-4.5 inches long along with some carefull twisting and aligning it all worked pretty well. This provided an honest and solid repeatable 28 RWHP and 25 RWTQ. A tune without being overly agressive with timing, keeping Knock retard to under 1 degree, cleaned up the air fuel ratio to a flat 12.5:1 again safe, worked with the torque management, turned off Skip shift, raised speed limiter, lowered fan turn on temps. Netted us another honest solid and repeatable 9 HP and 12 RWTQ for a total gain of 37 RWHP and 37 RWTQ. Total numbers were 410 RWHP 407 RWTQ. I realize these numbers are lower than advertised but I assure you they are accurate and repeatable. Engine oil temp plays a major roll in the power to the wheels so if your not paying attention you can easliy show the lowest numbers against the highest numbers. This is the main reason we do 5 pulls for each combination. We also pulled the air filter from the stock air box and made 1 HP and 1 TQ, so I will be curious to see if the cold air system really make what they advertise. The most impressive thing is how this car drives with the torque managment adjusted, Throttle Response is Amazing, Feels more like 50 HP from the Seat O Pants Meter. Ted.

You said you needed (2) 1.5" pipes to connect the AR Headers system to the axle back system. Why 1.5", wouldnt that be a restriction in an exhaust that is 2.5"?

Yea I figured it was just a typo but had to ask. Numbers look pretty good, about 40 hp with bolt ons is not bad. I was curious exactly what the torque management on the LS3 is doing and how much of it there is? Does it have a noticeable impact on acceleration by adjusting it?

Nice and honest...
Vengeance did something similar when they were building mine and the ARH netted 28.69RWHP 23.58RWTQ. You can see additional info in my build thread.... So...between you and them...I think we have a pretty honest answer. Mine was done in Atlanta in the summer, so it was hot and humid...but, then...so was the baseline

When I adjust it, the engine gets to full throttle quicker which makes if feel like 50 hp. Torque management does not show up on the dyno it shows up on the street. Ted.

Base numbers look at bit high...was this done on the dyno with a load? Or just sitting on top of the dyno? What was the weather conditions on baseline? Thanks for additional information.

The only difference is how long the RPM Sweep takes, Tested this hundreds of times. Baseline and finish were done same day 90 degrees throughout the day. The car was fully broken in and fully warmed up oil temps were held consistant. These cars gain 10 hp just getting the oil up to temp. Ted.
