Another mylink thread

I'm trading my car in for a 1le 2ss/rs and I removed the factory mylink non-nav because it stopped working.

If I purchase another mylink non-nav for my model year will it be a simple plug and play? Will the dealer be able to program it properly if not?

Each Mylink has to be programmed to the specific VIN. If you buy one say off of eBay it will NOT be plug and play. If you send it in to Gen5diy they can reprogram it to your VIN but it isnt cheap.

There is absolutely no scenario in this universe where this works in your favor.

Put the non-functional radio back in the car and tell the dealership to eat crow.

The dealership gives you full trade in value for your vehicle (whatever that means), minus a "radio adjustment" of $500.

You're welcome and good luck! Dealer can replace that HU and code it for less than $500.
