I didn't think the OEM Water deflector would work with out modifications. I am sure someone could do it if they want but that is up to them.

As far as making the deflector longer. My design doesn't have the extra holes in the middle like the OEM so I made it shorter to allow good air flow. The water will just roll onto the radiator. I think that will be fine. I just wanted to keep water off the Throttle Body and connections.

Okay, here is the template...

Let me start off by saying a sheet of Lexan big enough to do this cost $20. so it could be a expensive project if it gets messed up. ONLY do this if you feel comfortable in losing $20 possibly.

I will say this stuff is pretty forgiving. Cutting out the template is pretty easy with a Dremel and a cut off wheel at high speeds. When heating the Lexan heat both sides and you will see it move by itself when heat is applied to a side. I used a Map gas torch (propane will also work or even a heat gun), just make sure to continuously move the heat and don't get too close.

I would also suggest cutting the template then trying some 90 degree bends with the left over before you start the tray. I put silicone on the 2 rear corners and plastidipped the entire bottom and sides. I left the inside alone and it looks cool from the top of the hood looking in.

Also this design is poor in the fact that the front 2 tabs are really hard to get the nuts back on. This will require 2 people and small hands. Or even better a better design. lol... Good luck.

RED dotted lines are for Bends and Blue lines are for the measurements...

This is why I ask.

Now I am wondering about installing dual 14 heat extractors, one on each side of the cowl instead of in the center, just for something different.

Nice work and that is another option.

This is interesting as well for those who are going to boost with a roots blower in the future. A slimmer design.
