I noticed this several times in the past few weeks, and wrote it off as something I was smelling outside. It reminds me of that burning wire smell when you are pumping too much wattage through a speaker (before everything melts).

Perhaps I'm smelling my VTC dying?

You know what I remember smelling like something was burning when I would accelerate on to the freeway at wot...

Had mine for about 5-6 months...started to reduced power warning, then it would go away and drive fine for a week, or 2 days or 2 weeks. Uninstalled it and , no problems since (out about 6 weeks)..Fun while it lasted, but will NOT be getting another one

As long as the VTC failing, and throwing my car into Reduced Power doesn't damage anything, I can't get to stressed.

I'll wait until I hear more about the results of other failures lately (like Angrybird's) before I exchange mine & and install a new one.

If I uninstall it, and that resolves the problem, I'll be contact VMS.

Does anyone know of leaving it as SP0 has the same results (in terms of resetting the CEL) as a total uninstall?

Installed mine this morning in my LLT M6. 10 minutes install, plug and play, very easy.
I run about 50miles in SP5 as Ahmed recommends.

Honestly, a little bit disappointed, its not "day and night" IMO, the car response is slightly better but it doesn´t stick me to my seat as i expect.

Next day i will run another 50miles with SP9, maybe i need sp6 or sp7 to awake my car or maybe i was expecting too much after reading so many happy people here.

One question, my screen has a many scratches, is that normal?

Regards.

You are the second person that I have heard say that they are underwhelmed. I told the other person that this won't turn you V6 into a V8, but it will greatly improve the response from the throttle press. I have definitely noticed that in a major way with mine. The time it took for my car to respond is much better. Mine didn't have any scratches on it. Not sure what that is all about.

Personally, I bought mine to address that soft/unresponsive feeling the stock throttle response has under initial toe-in. To get my car to react under light throttle, and not feel so heavy.

I found SP6 to be the lowest setting that seems to make throttle response (at least the first half) more linear and immediate.

I found SP8 to be the setting that produced the most thrilling results. Under light toe-in, the transmission is quick to downshift, and it feels like I'm spending more time where I'd like to be on the torque curve.

This could be the answer. Thanks for the replies.

Also i have to say that it took 7 days to arrive to Spain with no additional import charges or custom fees, very happy with this.

Got my refund today, vitesse is a real standup company that does what it takes to keep you happy. I really hope they can get the bugs worked out. I will probably wait until I don't see any more issues popping up and order it again. I loved that on my car.

You should send the 2nd one back too and have Ahmed have its circuitry tested to see if he can find a problem.
