TBH I would see if the dealer would just replace the whole thing or give you a aftermarket player

Second round at the dealership. Replaced the Onstar telecommunication module. So far so good.

Two more trips to the dealership, mirror replaced. Still have the same problem.

Well, after 5 trips back to the dealership, they figured it out. Had a bad wiring harness supplying power to electronic interface. System would drop out when inside vehicle temps got warm(over 90), then come back after the ac ran for 20 minutes.
Kudos to the dealership for not giving up!
