I like the sound of that all season so don't have worry about the cold traction and maybe will stop hearing every little piece of sand or gravel being tossed up at my car/wheel wells. I want upgrade rears to ZL1 size when I replace anyways. love the look of wide rear tires.

I want to get a set of these and mount them on a set of replica 10 spokes and swap them out at will.

I ordered a set of these from Tirerack and 15 minutes later a guy from tirerack calls me and tells me the load range on these are a little light for a Camaro. He says they are a 100 which will work but he said a 106 would be a lot better. Will the Size: 285/35ZR20 100W be okay?

The 100 load rating is fine. 1764 pounds per tire. Same as the factory Goodyears. The W means the tires top speed is 168 mph.

Has anybody else tried these tires yet? I am seriously considering these due to cold winters here in GA. The GY's are terrible in the cold weather.

I'm also wondering if anyone has run these in the summer with a few mods (headers/pulley/CAI). How do they stick when you hit 'em hard? I don't track the car, so I am looking for a good street tire, these look interesting.

See comment from online tire retailer in BOLD
Excerpts from conversation with large online tire vendor:
VENDOR: They actually haven't been used on the ZL1 yet VENDOR: the 305 size has yet to become available VENDOR: This tire is 6 months old and 305 has essentially never been available VENDOR: You would be, quite possibly, the first person to ever use this model on a ZL1 ME: hmmmmmmm VENDOR: It is super popular on Mustangs, RS Camaros, etc. VENDOR: not sure I like that - you know what they say about pioneers VENDOR: But has not been used on a ZL1 yet VENDOR: If you want an all season tire they will be your only choice VENDOR: The tire selection for the ZL1 isn't exactly the largest, unfortunately. VENDOR: Such a rare sizing set up ME: I dont really plan on driving it in the winter, it never even sees rain, its a second car but I would like to be able to move it in the winter without worrying about cracking tires, and driving it in temos below 50, I'd like not to kill myself. (two issues with the OEM tires) VENDOR: haha VENDOR: To be honest with you, an all season tire on a ZL1 is almost a crime VENDOR: You are giving up so much performance to make those small gains (think I will pass) |

I have mine on order. 285 front, 305 rear. The fronts are in stock just waiting on the rears at the end of Sept. Can't wait to try them out.

Boo! Just got notified that BFG has pulled back on 305 delivery. (sigh). Looking like I'll have to settle for 285's x 4.

I just spoke to the BFG Factory this past Monday about the 305's being on back order. They have scheduled the 305's production to be last week of September first week of October, next month. They will fulfill all back orders first. Go on a back order list and you should get them by the end of next month.

Really BFG get you act together offering a tire in a size then having non made 6 months after your publicized release date, then telling people just wait a few months to get them in the mean time drive around on bald tires. I understand its a oddball size but still leaves me wondering if they should be taken seriously as a brand or if they belong in the 2nd tier of tire brands. The ones you get only because thats all you can afford at this time or the ones that you throw on just for few months to get you by till you trade a car in.
