The pink solder sleeves are evidence that bubba was messing with the wires. What after-market electronics does your car have?

Had it 3 years now. No issues. Was completely stock inside and out when i got it. I redid those red connectors just incase one was loose. Still wondering about those bllue wires with black tape.

There are two red soldier sleeves or crimped sleeves in line, and another wire with possibly a splice wrapped in tape.

Something was done with those wires at some time after the factory. Maybe some aftermarket device removed before you bought the car?

I got a chance to look under the dash just now. The cable bundle is zip-tied and wrapped, from the factory. Yours obviously has been modified.

I can barely fit my hands up there, not sure how im going to solder the wires.

Why solder them? A good crimped connection is more than adequate. Another method is a solder sleeve and a heat gun with the proper deflector shield to protect surroundings and concentrate the heat.

But then, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. IMHO, you should get professional help with your fault code.

To be honest, i dont trust any mechanic around here. 95% of them are part swappers and dont have a clue about anything.
