Where are your Dyno testing results for your mods? I am not the company making the claims of HP gains. I have nothing to prove, I didn't make the part. I was telling the OP my experience ...take it or leave it...matters not to me. If you want to donate for me to get a dyno...I can give you my paypal address. Otherwise...

So ive been looking at saving to either get the solo cats or to get an ARK DT-S exhaust. I plan to eventually get both if you can combine the two. But dont both come with new resonators and if so which one do you use.

The cats do not come with resonators...just the exhaust.

I may have read it wrong but i just checked to solo website and product page for the LFX cats and they say they had to use there (high flow resonators) beacuse without it was to loud.

I just looked at their website again and it says both the HFC and the cat back exhaust have resonators...I will email Steve and ask him for a definitive answer. Stay tuned...

Both the cats and the exhaust have cats. Controls rasp and drone....although on the SOLO exhaust its the J pipes that controls most of the drone

Yes, Steve confirmed they both have free flowing resonators...he said they flow 95%.

I'm sure Solo makes a fine product and I'm sure the muffler guy is very skilled. However, all this thread has is a bunch of conjecture.

you just described the Internetz in general.

i would like to see someone with an LFX thats tuned just get rid of both cats with a staight pipe, i bet theres gonna be some gains there, you would also need to put on a magnalfow resonated x to control the rasp. but nothing flows better then staight pipe lol, just gotta be tuned to get rid of the CEL. and in a state/ city that doesnt do visual inspections lol. but getting a shop to delete both cats would only cost like 200 at most. then add a 100 for the magnaflow resonated x. only down part is you gotta be tuned.

I did the MRT V2.0 exhaust first when I had the car for about a week back in June. The install I did myself and is very simple and straight forward. If you do it yourself measure twice and cut once. You do have a little margin for error as the muffler slides over the pipe and clamp down on the stock exhaust. I used a hacksaw(took forever and arms hurt for 2 days but was worth it) but use a saws-all if you have one or borrow one and be careful not to cut off something you shouldn't. I have a little problem with the passenger side twists a little and starts to point the outlet upward a bit. I didn't make the cut exactly straight and have been meaning to pull it off and grind it straight or take it in and just have them welded in place. Okay with that said I absolutely love the sound. When cruising at highway speeds there is not much much drone that everyone talks about and is actually quiet in my book. Revving up when sitting in the driveway like some vids don't do it justice until you actually get it under power with your foot in it then it comes alive. After 6 months I still get a grin when I fire it up since the cold idle the RPM's are slightly higher and it gets bigger when I step on the pedal and make some noise.

The Injen CAI I was expecting more from it as far as performance. I myself don't think the claimed 10 to 15HP is all that noticeable with the 323HP it has already, but you may be able to feel it. But I think where it is noticeable is MPG, I put it on around the 1500 mile mark so it was still getting broke in and was running around 25 to 26 MPG but as hard as I was on the throttle last summer I seen high 27's to 28 MPG average and had a tank at 29.1 which was not bad considering how I drove it. Since I installed this after the CAI I don't think it made it sound any different and don't think it made it sound different under the hood like some claimed. I did it to improve it's breathing and performance was second.

Sorry for being long winded and I hope you really enjoy the exhaust as much as I have so far.

Dean.

Yeah, I install it myself with the help of my buddy (he has every tool imaginable lol) so thanks for all the tips.

I really love the sound of it from all the videos I've seen, so I'm hoping it sounds even better in person. Can't wait

That's disappointing to hear about the Injen CAI in terms of performance. Was hoping for a bit of a power increase with it, but I guess an increase of MPG is still good lol

Nah, don't worry about it. Love your posts, very helpful! Thank you!!
