L99 vs LS3(Trading up from V6)
Hey Everyone, long time lurker first time poster here. With the 2014's coming out I've been entertaining trading up to a 2SS and knowing a decent amount about the engine options I'd like to ask if the difference between the engines is worth me taking the plunge and learning to drive a stick. Also the fact that with the L99 I'd be paying more for the lesser engine.
Any tips on learning to drive a stick in such a beast of a car would also be greatly appreciated |

Wow...sounds like it's time to learn more than just how to drive a stick!

auto = instant gratification
Manual = Delayed gratification but more of it in the long run

Sorry, wasn't meaning to offend or come off rude. I'm just referring to the HP/Torque difference. Which is why I'm here asking

LS3 is no beast. But it is actually easier to learn manual when the engine makes some torque in my opinion

It's cool...I think they're both great motors. Ones serves the auto tranny and one serves the manual tranny. I know the numbers slightly favor the LS3, but my L99 is no slouch compared to it. I might of took your wording the wrong way, and for that, I apologize.

I have an LS3, a family member has the L99. I have driven both and can say I would not give up my LS3, there is a big difference in performance.

I still cant drive my stick. but im learning. Iv had 4 speeds befor but never a 6. I got the stick because a muscle car should have a stick. The auto can be made more fun with a tune.

Imho i wouldnt get the manual if u cant drive it. That clutch is not gonna last you. I would first learn in a beater. But if ur willing to make repairs to things that could have been avoided go for the LS3.
I originally wanted an LS3 and test drove it but changed my mind with my commute. I may one day give in to a 6th gen or even 7th with a manual tranny. For now, i have no regrets. Also remember the tq is what counts and its not that big of a difference especially if you cant shift gears properly.
