Car vibrating even after wheel balance.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this before.

I got my new wheels/tires installed on Saturday. When I drove over 50mph+, the car was vibrating. I thought the shop I took it to didn't do a good job so I took it elsewhere and they guy said they look fine, off very little so he adjusted it, but it's still vibrating over 65+. I think the worst is around 75+.

I don't think either shops used a road force balancer, not sure if that would help. Any ideas?

Is it the steering wheel shaking issue?

I bought the Factory Reproductions ZL1 wheels 20x10 and 20x11 with the Continental DWS 275/40 and 315/35. This is so annoying.

Just got to a shop with road force balance. Their saying because it's an aftermarket wheel is going to be hard to be accurate and their worried it's not going to be easy or accurate. Any truth?

I call BS. Aftermarket wheels are no harder to balance than factory if it's a decent quality wheel and not bent or out of round.

I don't know about your wheels, but a lot of them require a hub centric spacer or they will vibrate no mater how balanced they are. Check if your wheels require these and there installed if they do.

I got them road force balanced and the vibrating is gone, at least I think it is. The mechanic who did it said the back tires are out of spec slightly according to the road force test and if the vibration is still there, to try and get them replaced.

Since it looks like its resolved, should I go ahead and keep them or try and get new ones from tirerack?

What kind of wheels? Maybe they aren't mounting up right? Hubcentric? Require a plastic spacer?

I'd run it up to high speed and see if the vibration is gone. If not, contact Tire Rack and see how they would like to handle it. One thing to consider, is this going to be a reoccurring problem with just as much hassle to get them balanced every time?

I've gotten it up to 75 and don't feel much, at least I think I don't. Need to take the lady on a drive later. I agree about the hassle. I already have to remove all the left over sticky residue from the wheel weights that were removed/replaced. And I've spent close to 300 on balancing in the past few days. I guess I'll see. Thanks to everyone for the input.

If you can't get them to balance, contact Factory Reproductions before you put many miles on them. I'm sure they'll make it right.

They just didn't get it balanced correctly most likely which is common. Take it back and have the balance checked. If you still have issues get them roadforced balanced.

By the way we only use the road force Hunter machine at Tire Rack.
