Went with Nitto NT05 on rear
I was between the NT05 and 05R and decided to go with the 05. First impression...first gear is still hard to get the power to the ground but second gear chirps and hooks (GY F1s would spin through second). I have them at 32psi. Still not convinced I should have gone with the R but so far they are better than the GY.
What is your experience with NT05? |

NT05 and 05r's, good to great off the line, but roll over in the corners a bit. You can air them up a bit to overcome some of that, but not all. Good tire for straightline flogging though.

The 05 is a nice all round tire but not the right choice if you want some traction.
I think you would have been much happier with the R |

I use the nitto 555R. I needed more grip at the strip but still needed traction in the heavy florida rains. I would say they are way better grip dry than the goodyears were but they are way worse in the rain.

Did you go with 305s or 315s?
Has anyone put 315s on the ZL1 rear yet? On stock rims? I believe they'll fit the rims, but will they fit the car....or under the fender??? |

I have the NT-05R's on the rear and love them. Still managed to pull 1.03 g with them blasting through turns in PTM 5. The 315/35/20's fit perfect on the stock wheels and I don't get any rubbing.

I had them NT05 on My srt8 and got one good month out of them. They leave dry powderey burnout marks they don't really melt into the pavement and leave semi permanent marks and after a month they turned to shit and I just burned them up to get rid of them. Never again, tried the drag radials too and with only 6/32nds tread depth You can get maybe 2 months out of them.

Yes went with 315. Fit perfect on stock wheel. GM should have just gone with this off the bat.
