Sending my z/28 to get some work done....

I'm in contact with Katech about there stage 2 package. They can get me in at the end of this month. I'm planning on getting the car there to get the work done. Has anyone here had work done on there z/28 by them? if so, how was your experience? Thanks in advance.

they have run Chevrolet racings incredible Corvette program...correct? I read constantly how other tuners use their parts. Assuming their cost isn't insane, they appear to be the top level tuner for LS7s. Which package are your going with and...if you don't mind sharing..what is the cost?https://katechengines.com/vehicles/?...446.1520986531

It's interesting, the HP/TQ numbers are similar between the Stage 2 and Street Attack packages, but the latter appears to be a lot more involved.

I've only heard good things about Katech from the Corvette community.

The price is reasonable. It all depends on what options(bronze valve guides, etc) you want to add. There are plenty of tuners located around me by Chicago but I think Katech is the only shop I would trust with my z. They are a little over 5 hours away but worth the drive.

Interesting they don't post their prices. Most of the big shops do. Just an observation.

That should be a very nice bump for your car. I can't wait to hear about your experience. Good luck.

Katech

They will not put headers on you have to have them put on else where or do it yourself, I have an estimate from them for about 10k with me doing the headers.

A friends of mine purchased a track attack 427 from them for their Z06 - they definitely won my business. I don't think there are many shops with a better reputation than Katech.

If you trailer the car from there and sign a form that it is only going to be used for off-road (track) use then they will put headers on. At least that's what Jason at Katech told me in an e-mail. He said that the car would need to be trailered when leaving their shop if they put the headers on.

I also asked him if they would be able to put the headers on and then tune it but put the stock manifolds back on for when it leaves and then I could always bolt the headers on myself at a later date. I believe he said they could do that as well. Basically if the car is driven from their shop when picked up it needs to have a street legal exhaust. If it's trailered from their shop then they are able to put the full exhaust on.

No videos. It's definitely worth the money. I highly recommend them to anyone with an ls7.

Which cam did you go with, K501 or Torquer? And are they still using the FAST intake and not the MSD?
