Is window tinting worth it?
I'm considering getting 20% tint on my side windows, and I think it'll cost around $200. To those who have gotten tint:
1) Does it look good? (My exterior is Cyber Grey Metallic) 2) Does it ruin visibility? I appreciate any and all feedback, Thanks! |

Also, I have a convertible (for what it's worth), so visibility shouldn't be too much of an issue if I can put the top down.
And if you guys think that a different tint looks better than the 20%, please let me know! |

1) It does look good, gives the car a more finished look. (Not sure how to explain it) Especially on your color Camaro I think it would match well
2) 20% is a bit dark I think. Even with 35% I have some minor troubles at nighttime. Sometimes I have to roll down the windows to see out in very dark areas because of it. |

To me, a car doesn't look finished until it is tinted.
I have 5% on my back and rear quarter windows, 20% on my door windows, and a 5% strip on my windshield. This is how I tint all of my cars, but I have a prescription. It might be a little dark for some, but I don't have any problems with it except for backing up at night. I have to roll them down for backing.

I think it looks great, but I wouln't go that dark. If you do get tint, don't tint your windhshield!
I don't have tint on the Camaro, but I have had it on several past cars and I think I got pulled over a lot because of it. It seems to attract the cops. Maybe because it is illegal here... |

I think it really makes the car look better. I have 15% all around and the visibility isn't too bad. I think 20% will be fine. I have 5% on my truck and even during the day you can't wear sunglasses because it's too dark haha.

I'm not sure about the %, but when I picked up my Camaro (2nd owner), there was tinting all around, with a windshield tint bar. I had them remove the windshield one (such a short windshield, it took up too much space IMO), and the side windows. I kept the small side windows and rear window, which I think looks great. With such a low roof, high beltline, and dark interior, I don't really need the regular side windows tinted. It ends up looking different too, than the all black all tinted Camaros I've seen on the road.
EDIT: To be clear, I had the dealer remove what they removed as I believe it is illegal in my state. |

Wow, all of these quick responses are awesome. I think state law requires that the tint must allow more than 70% of light in, hmmm...

With 70% being the law, I feel like that's such a minor tint. To me, windows with the 70% don't even appear to be tinted.

I love my tint. Makes the windows blend with the car much better (IBM paint).
I have 20% and have no issues day or night. As for "law", tint is a secondary offense in PA. So gotta be doing something else wrong first. But if you do get caught, be prepared to pay the consequences.

I've got 7% on all windows except windshield. I also have a vert. It's dark and at night I do sometimes have to roll down the window to make a turn but I live in a rural area.

if you are in Ohio the legal tint limit is 50% on front 2 windows.
I have my camaro 20% all around but on my daily driver i got 35% on the front 2 windows because i got pulled over with 20% (on white car its more noticeable) Makes cars look 100% better IMO. If you need a good tint guy i know someone in dayton who is awesome and will do it under $200 |
