How bad are burnouts?

How bad are burnouts for your car? for an auto trans. burnouts that involve holding the brake and gas simultaneously and then letting go of the brake. how bad is that for your camaro?

It's pretty hard on your brakes and puts allot of strain on the rear-end of the car. Press on the brakes just enough to keep you from moving forward, to much brake can/will break stuff.

Get a line lock and then it's just a tire problem...

I was wondering the same thing, thanks for the post I'll make sure I don't put to much strain on the brakes. I'm new to this burn out thing, but where can I get a line lock?

It's a device used to keep fluid pressure applied to brakes that allows the front brakes to lock independently of the rear brakes with a switch, allows easy burnouts.

To be steet legal the brake lights must operate when the brakes are applied.

Here is a good write-up on how to properly install a line lock and keep it street legal with the proper wiring...
