decided to put uer back to a 3.04 upper and 8.66 lower for the road course, now that ratio makes 10lbs on my car vs 8lbs on most others with this setup, either way...this is my lowest boost setting just to see if I can keep her planted off apex and control heat. Gave her a good shake down, will change the oil once I get a chance to drive her a bit to burn thimgs off. Doing the blackstone labs as recommended.

Also decided to have the Boss help me bleed 2 pumps off all 8 bleeders...it looks like Ibgot it all as pictured vs the black stuff!

Thanks man, took her out for a shakedown on the back roads.... 10lbs boost is still plentiful for the F1 tires.

They held with linear throttle and felt great out of the turns.... full throttle off apex and you know she goes loose immediately.

It will be fun to actually have to drive a little more now... drag race she was setup to shit n git....inly had to pedal minimal off the line in 1st.....she now demands linear throttle application which was kind of fun to play with.

Saturday should be a good day cruising arou d Dominion Raceway.

Oh and the SRF and bleed job were good, nice firm pedal.

Thanks again for looking and the comments.

I hear ya. I'm still learning the linear throttle technique. Can't imagine the mayhem of full throttle off an apex. That's brave. LOL!

I'm running 18" reps with MT ET Street R rears because the ZL1 rims with the regular ET Streets had trouble grabbing when I tore up a Vette recently on a 70 mph roll. I started in 3rd gear and went full foot stompin' shit n git. Man, it was all I could do to keep her in a straight line. It was like driving on ice. I hit 4th and never saw the Vette until I nailed the brakes.

It's very cool that you're reinventing your ride to keep the experience fresh. When I'm done with my red phase, I'll chrome all my ZL1s. Are yours plated or powder coated?

Just read this entire thread and have to say I love the build. Such attention to detail, had a vision for the car and stuck with it. Car looks great too, great combo that color, stripes, and the chrome zl1s. I’ll be keeping tabs on where you go from here.

Hope to get a manual 5th to convert to lsa in the future.

Let me dust the cob webs off, it has been a while since I posted.

For starters, the Track Attack at Dominion Raceway was cool, but it was clear both the car an I were ready for a real HPDE and not a paced session. It was my first time there and I 100% support getting used to a new track in a friendly controlled environment. They made it very easy and I was at no point stressed except for I almost tapped the BMW's bumper in front of me. Setup is everyone follows the pace car no passing, boring after a few laps, critical for any beginner to get comfortable.

Quic stayed cool and powerful even with the 10lbs pulley. Tires gripped plenty off Apex, I suspect it was based on slower entry speeds and less acceleration space. I had hoped it would be a good shakedown to get ready for an HPDE..... but Im pretty sure QUIC was not challenged at all at this pace. Those gremlins are still hiding I am sure.

It is nice though to have HPtuners and be able to setup a tune for the road course. Lowered timing a couple, dialed in the MAF curve for the heat, Changed shift points. Oh and I had Tap shift AUTO shift up only under 100% throttle at those points but I controlled all other shifting up or down. Makes it a nice thing I can focus on hitting the curbing and holding my track out vs. trying to hit the up shift button. I miss the manual gearbox sometimes, but the tap shift seemed pretty fun on the road course with the tuning changes.

Videos were pretty boring with the slower speeds (maxed at 130 but average speed was probably 30 in turns and 90 on straights --- I got one lucky lap at the 130 with spacing)

A Few shots, it was a fun day.

More updates..... I had decided 3 or 4 months ago that it was time to ditch the stock catback, the weight of it was enough, it really didn't sound that bad, but a bit more raspy than I prefer. I found a member selling a nice ZL1 3" system that was on an AGP car for an affordable price. Needed some fab work, but I knew I would want full 3" instead of the standard 2.5" choke where they connect to the cat, so I sent my step dad to pick it up and I just recently visited him to get it!! Talk about a long wait, luckily I had my Harley build going on to keep me distracted.

Here are what pictures I had of the Magnaflow system. It is the Full 3" Xpipe with mufflers 15053 part number

https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=15053

So once I decided to do it, i had to modify my bandsaw to reduce the blade speed for cutting metal, what a project but it looks factory quality so I am happy, just need to build a cover for the new external belt reducer... that can wait.. I need some new exhaust tones!

Oh and I decided to weld with Oxygen acetylene gas and 308L instead of using the mig or stick and/or buying a tig. Still some practice needed and probably a smaller torch tip, so no bashing.

Biggest thing here was connecting the Kooks Headers to the already cut up / modified Magnaflow X pipe..... Bought the female torca connectors Manufacturer's Part Number:750013, some stainless steel exhaust tubing and some old cat shells.

You can see the previous off road pipes, vs the ones I made.....I am pretty happy with them.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it.

Should be some more updates coming soon along with some before and after sound clips!

Finishing up the exhaust posts:

Xpipe with the 3" connectors welded on so I can still butt clamp to the cat pipes and remove as necessary in the future, would have been easier to just weld them all together but this I feel is a much better way to do it. Especially as much as I tinker on it!

First pic is the x-pipe and cat pipes clamped together for welding to avoid warping or distorting

It is certainly louder and a nice DEEP tone. I am very happy, going to give it a shake down tomorrow and hopefully get some good video clips.

Also I got the Dynamat in the trans tunnel, it is easiest if you remove the trans mounts with it resting on the jack you can slowly lower it to get more clearance in the tunnel. Since the explosions are shooting under our legs, made sense to use some more deadener here plus I had 3 extra sheets.

Well, it is better than when someone tinkles a little from the torque.

So yea.
