they made a ugly car better!
Ive never been a fan of the lancer evo's looks but its always had respectable performance. the new lancer looks much better than those that have came before, but to me its still butt ugly. they just put out the 2008 lancer evo-x...and I gotta say, Im liking her a little more. 291hp/300 foot pounds of torque from a turbo'ed 4 banger. I would put pics but I for some reason the site wont let me??? heres the link

not bad, not bad at all. Whats the price comming in at, out of curiosity? I know evos have excelent handling, but it isn't terribly light. Will be interesting to see its track times compared to a similarly priced camaro

It's about time they made it look decent. I always thought the front's holes were too big and awkward, the mid-body was too tall, and the back was poorly designed garbage. It's still years behind the styling of the competition, though.
This will not change my decision. I'm getting a Camaro.

Replace the shopping cart wing with a more subtle wing/spoiler and it'll be a decent looking car.

I love the styling of the new Evos. The price is a little too high and I still don't trust the reliability of an engine that makes that kind of output relative to displacement, so I probably wouldn't buy one, but it looks great.

Too bad it doesnt perform as good as the older gen evo's. The evo IX will always be my favorite. The top of the line evo mr with sst after dealer markup will probably go for high $40k....
Its kinda funny that you guys like the new look because most evo owners are hating it right now! Same goes for the new STi too.

looks arent everything.... I'd rather have a ugly car that can perform then a good looking car that is a turd.

I want a car that looks great. That's why I hate the Impreza I drive now and want the Camaro so much. With the right money, anyone can make anything fast, but it's really hard to give an ugly car a makeover. I just want my next car to have a lot more horsepower than my last car (Cobalt) and look better than anything I've driven.

perhaps its the engineer in me, but I always believed in form following function. Hence, I dispise Ricers and everything they do. Make a car look fast only after it is fast.

Based solely on looks, between the last STI and last Evo I would have gone with the STI without a second thought. For the current STI and Evo I would go with the Evo for sure. I haven't seen a comparison test on their driving attributes yet, so I'll reserve final judgment. Still, both are too expensive, in my opinion, and I'd rather have a Zeta or Alpha car.
