I ran 10.75 with around 650whp. With a 1.8 60ft. But you will have a hard time with those tires and the manual trans. I'd say high 12's first time out.

Well I picked up and OBD2 and the torque app. Not sure how accurate it all is bt seems it gets its info from the ecu id imagine its alright. Anyway went out today and gave it a go. Did 4 runs and my best time was 12.9 a couple of times. And 0-100 in 4.8s. At 620hp these numbers are pretty shocking, but im hoping its all to do with the launch. Id either drop the clutch and spin or with lower revs almost stall it. then after launch have to half throttle first gear. Do those numbers sound alright for 620hp with a complete noob behind the wheel? how much would a good takeoff decrease the time do yous think?

Totally normal for a first time.
Now you have to start spending money on wheels and tires for the grip.
And more practice.

I assume your 0-100 is kph. Most of us south of the border only understand mph.

Ok thats good then. Yep, sorry 0-100kph so 0-60mph. Might start looking into a set of drag wheels. Whats a good allround size and tyre for it? Do yous know how accurate the torque app is by any chance? Awesome app

17 inch Welds with MT ET Strret R is the hook up.

Check out Pro Stock John's sticky post on wheel tire combination for details.

Im trying to find wheels online but have no idea what im looking at. Im in Australia so none of our sites even have chevy on them. If i was to go 17 inch with 305 tyres what would the exact size of the rim be? I have no idea about offsets and what width the rim would have to be to have a 305 on it. Also will a 17 rim fit around the ss brakes? Also what would the size of the tyre be? 305/??. Are there any american sites that ship to Aus cheaply?

12.9 at what MPH? An approximate way to think about traction to quarter mile ET is that every tenth in the 60' time is worth around .2s in the quarter mile. Trap speed tells you about your HP, the ET tells you about traction - both are dependent on each other but that's a good loose way to look at it.

Half throttle through 1st sounds normal, I can't get my 400ish whp hooked in first on street tires on the street at wide open, so I'd expect you'd have to pedal through 1st and 2nd.

Sorry forgot to add that in. Heres the screenshot of the run. Is that a decent trap speed? Wish it told me my 60ft. 188kph works out to 117mph

Based on those numbers (8.5@87mph in the 660', 12.9@116.8) the car is really struggling in the 1/8th before finally hooking up. It's picking up 30mph from the 1/8th to the quarter, which indicates it's making pretty strong power. 620whp should trap high 120's with ease and really 130's should be do-able, but if you're really struggling on the first half that'll hurt the mph some. I'm not sure exactly how accurate torque is, but it'll give you a pretty good idea.

i have gone once, a 12.88 at 109 MPH on a stock 1LE with stock 20 inch MPSS tires on it rowing the gears. next closest was a 13.04 but I was on brakes as I was out in front on a bracket race.

So I took the car to the dyno today to see for myself what its really making as i got no paperwork with it. Ended up getting 411.1rwkw which i think is 550hp. Definately alot less that i originally thought but at least i now know for sure what its running. What sort of times could I expect from that with a good takeoff. And is that decent power given the mods? He said he could easily get another 50hp with another tune as its running fairly rich at the moment too.

Well, for what it's worth, my buddies m6 ZL1 has gone 11.9@121.5 and he dyno'd 540rwhp. That's with a 2.0ish 60' on stock street tires. I agree that 411kw = about 550rwhp, so on a good tire you should be able to go mid/low 11's at a similar MPH. You're going to need to work on your launch. Also, keep in a mind a real drag strip has MUCH more bite in it that some dusty/dirty back road, so that'll hold your Torque times back as well. I'll try to make an 1/8th mile hit with Torque some time and see what I get - I have a good handle on what my car does at the track so it'll be interesting to see how accurate it is. Torque also can measure aprx wheel HP if you put your vehicle weight in - might be interesting.
