It really depends on how much the heritage of the name plate means to you. No matter what you do to a SS.... It wont be a Z/28.

wait for the Z-28, if I knew a SC Z-28 was going to be made, I would have waited.

If you haven't bought one, it's worth every minute to wait. You save a lot of money for getting a car that is done by manufacture. Wait!!!

I'm waiting for it.. gotta wait until the second year of it being out most likely before I have enough $$ for a good sized down payment. It will be worth it though, 2 years out of college and driving a z28.. that's the end result of all this studying crap.. can't wait for it!

I think you might be able to get close to at least equalling the performance of Z (at least in what I think it's stock form is going to be), but you don't get a warranty, Z28 is going to be a whole car, not just an SC and a few light suspension goodies, and if it matters, the mod'd car still won't be a Z28. If the name doesn't matter to you, I'd say go at an SS

I will just have to trade in my 2010 SS for new 2012 Z28 and take it on the chin.

Radz said it perfectly. It really just depends on your own personal needs and desires. If you just want a really fast Camaro, mod out an SS, but know that you will most likely lose the warranty. OR pay some extra dollars and get a true Z28 and have a unique name with a special heritage and a warranty. For me, although the warranty is important, the name Z28 is what I want looking back at me at 3:00am when I open the garage door just to look at my car.
