I bought a utility trailer last year and converted it to a tire trailer. Works very well with the Gen5 hitch you can get.
I switched over to the Nitto NT01s. They withstand the heat cycling better and have not been an issue with the weight of the car. The Hoosier R7s would be the ultimate track tire, but they are REALLY expensive. Even though the RE71Rs are DOT approved and rated 200 TW, they will also likely last only one season, especially on a high temperature track. They don't call these "cheater tires" for Auto-x for no reason. They wear more like other 80 TW tires.

So I've run the new R888Rs for two days at VIR and two days at COTA and the grip has been incredible . The only limiting factor has been me, the driver. I started around 27-28 psi cold, and they got to 35 hot towards the closing laps of the session. From what I've gathered, this is optimal pressure for these tires. There's so much grip that I'm having to recalibrate everything. The wear looks very good on them. Now, the interesting part is to see how they continue to hold up. If they continue to work this well then this is going to be my "go to" tire.

They were just as good. No drop off in grip through any of my days. I've never had experience with the original 888s so I can't compare. Also, what is key is how they will perform from this point on as others have felt the original 888s degraded badly. So we shall see. I plan on doing VIR in Nov.

they seem better around 32-33. less than 32 hot doesnt seem to help at all. i start the day at around 28 cold and drop to 32-33 hot after that all day. they will build over 33 on the first run but it seems to help the cold tire graining that i get if i start at 25 cold. the pirelli DH slicks are faster corded than the old 888s or any treaded tire i have tried. Casey Woodside was doing 2:24s on RE71s, thats really good.
