Better all around tire than stock gy ?

I've been considering switching to Mpss tires as the stock ones have terrible straight line performance and I've recently come across the Continental extreme Contact tires and I'm wondering how both of these compare to the stockers around a track, and in a straight line ?
Thanks

Tires

I am really impressed with the tires that came stock on my 1LE Goodyear F1 supercar 3 very sticky but pricey. On a budget Nittos NT05 are good all round tires.

They're good for dry cornering but straight line traction sucks.

Pilot super sports are awesome. Have them on my 1le and had them on my old 335i. Probably my favorite street car tire. Awesome traction and handling, wet or dry.

Car and driver did a tire shootout.
Here is an excerpt:

"The Michelin PSS finished with the second-quickest lap in both the wet and dry autocrosses, just 0.1 and 0.2 second behind the leaders, respectively.

The PSS has the best balance of wet and dry performance we’ve ever experienced in testing. The minute compromises in each discipline make “super” a worthy part of its name. It’s our winner."

OP, I'd argue that the same grip that make the GY's great in corners would translate into straight line grip as well. What makes the stock GY's less than excellent on the street or quarter mile is they require a good deal of heat. Is that the real issue your dealing with? If my GY's are warm enough, the straight line traction is as good as any non-DR, IMHO.

Goodyear's can't really be beat for cornering. MPSS are certainly a better tire for straight line and for tread life. One thing I really like and kinda don't like is the MPSS are a very vocal tire whereas the GYs are silent and just let go. The GYs have a harder side wall which makes it more difficult to launch but are better in turns.

When cold they're the worst thing ever causing wheel hop. When hot they're not as bad but still had horrible wheel hop with anything more than 50% throttle. I've since changed to lowering springs, rear subframe bushings, toe links, trailing arms, upper control arm bushings, differential relocation bushings, and the wheel hop is about 95% gone. Everyone seems to say that the gy tires are most of the wheel hop problem with such stiff sidewalls. Supposedly some people eliminated their wheel hop just by putting on mpss's

I have had two sets of the Michelin PSS and ready for new tires soon. I'm considering the new PS4 S, Continental ExtremeContactSport, and Goodyear Supercar G:3. It sounds like the PSS and ExtremeContactSport are very similar. I also read that the new PS4 gives up a very little bit in dry grip to disperse heat more evenly for more even wear.

I cannot find anything about the new G3, not even on Goodyears website but some people think they deal with wet grip a little better. They also only come in 285/30 not 285/35. I'm not worried about the ratio but the load rating is only 95 vs 100 for the G2.

The gyf1's are great but take to long to heat up to stick. I'm looking into something that is a sticky tire best for street. Gyf1's are a great track tire but I feel they are tougher to deal with on regular road driving.

That is why I used the PSS, very good in the rain too. I really liked them but this second set heat cycled out a few months ago. In no longer have the confidence I used to have in the corners. I used to pull +.9 Gs in some corners with complete confidence and now I'm nervous pulling .7 Gs in the area.
