Understand that the SS is for the guy who wants a very fast but comfortable, practical car without all the flash and attention. Sure the Camaro is more performance per dollar but it is very flashy and attracts all kinds of attention. Some people like to use performance without attracting attention. Go speed around in your Camaro and see how quickly you get pulled over. The SS lets you have all the fun and keep a low profile.
I think it is PERFECT for what it was designed to be and reviews seem to agree. I can only afford my SS and a cheap beater but in the future I could see myself owning one of these as a daily.

The SS is a bit piggy on gas though, so with that in mind... as a daily driver and being concerned with the cost of the vehicle, your wallet might dictate driving something else. Mine certainly does.

Never seen one in person, but from the pictures I still favor the 11-14 Chargers.

2015 they are offering a manual option

Getting manual option and magnetic ride option next year I believe.

The SS gets the same MPG as a Camaro SS, 14/22 so for me that's a non issue.

For performance in a 4-door sedan, it might be a value. But if it's just performance, I'd rather pick up a new Camaro SS (low $30k). There are also lots of used options (C6?) that would rival the performance per dollar.

I think the Charger SRT8 is a better-looking car if we're judging "content" as appearance.

One of the things I can't quite get over is that it looks too much like a Pontiac G8 (it is one, practically). I don't think the G8 was a bad car, but it was a value-car and was offered as a cheap V6 sedan. I don't think anything about the build quality has changed; that is to say, glancing at it reminds me of a pedestrian sedan built by GM. Nothing special.

If "interior" is considered content, then for $40k+ I'm probably looking at Audi, BMW, or Mercedes first.

The SS sedan offers a tremendous functionality over the Camaro without sacrificing performance. Once you option up the Camaro to compete with the SS sedan, the price is a wash. The Camaro and Corvette simply won't allow you the option of seating 5 people with space for luggage.

Please show me what new offerings from Audi, BMW or MB will compete with the SS at this price. Even the SRT twins fall short of being the performance sedan the SS is.

The SS is a great car and value. I think we all agree. It just looks boring to me. Becky said previously it's outstanding to drive and how couldn't it be? It's a 4 door Camaro !! like I said I really hope it sells well but the us version looks too plain for me. Maybe if I see one that's blacked out might look better. I really want to like it but would rather buy the 300 or charger srt8. Not sure on the charger refresh front end though
