Questons About A/C Delete

Has anyone done an a/c delete? I'm in the middle of one but I'm seeing power steering lines going to either the radiator or... the condenser? I searched the internet and one guy said that our cars have a power steering cooler integrated into the condenser. Is this true? If so, I'm not going to go any further on removing the condenser because I'll have to leave it in and essentially have it be a big power steering cooler. How does that even work, having ps fluid and r134a running through the condenser together? Is the heat sink sectioned off for two different kinds of fluid to run through different areas?

Yes, that is true. You'll need an aftermarket PS cooler. Derale:

Would help...

Well I've taken out the compressor and left the condenser in so I essentially have one big power steering cooler in front of my radiator!

There's an independent circuit within it for p/s fluid on the bottom. So if the goal is weight loss get an independent cooler and scrap the condenser.

Yup, I saw the derale cooler. Any write up on installation? I know I'd have to use radiator ties to put it onto the radiator but how would the hoses connect?

Install would depend on cooler chosen and fitting type you choose to go with at pump and cooler ends of the system. You can spend the money to get custom units built or build your own. A lot of people will drill and tap the pump to accept AN or you can buy one for mucho bucks from Turn One already done.

If it's not as simple as just clamping hoses, I'll probably just leave the condenser there. I'm not that desperate to get rid of it. I really only deleted the a/c to clean up the bay and because I don't use it. The condenser being there doesn't bother me that much. I don't want to spend over $50 or modify my PS pump, and it sounds like there's no easy way to install an aftermarket cooler. I'm not capable of drilling and tapping myself.

My tuner is telling me I don't even need the PS cooler, he says only track cars really need it and I'm not really like that. Spirited street driving and occasional drag is how I'd sum up my driving style.
