Cunningham Motorsports in CA has a drop in piston and rod setup that can take the extra power and it doesn't require the motor to be pulled. Parts are same weight as stock and don't require balancing....you've got time before you 8/26 track date to make the swap.

Seriously though, thanks for the details on your build.

By extra power you mean higher compression pistons n forged rods?

Forged pistons and rods to take up to 1200hp I believe. They may only be available for the LT1/LT4's though. I'll have to find out.

Well any forged piston should handle that to be honest. The hard part is installing them with the motor still in the engine bay. Damn near impossible to get the oil pan off without cutting part of your k-member off

My buds mrimpala02 and CGbambam are just looking out for me

I went to the website but did not see the forged piston/rods package for the LS3 so . . . I continue taking my chances. The truth is, that LS3 is a mean motor

Even on the smallest bottom pulley and a restriction plate in the F-1X suction tube, the car still runs like a scalded dog.

The axle came in yesterday so I should be able to get it changed out sometime next week and I will be back in business. I need to put a few miles on the car so the ProCharger break-in oil can be changed before 8/26. I don't think I even have 200 miles on it yet since the install.

If I need a little extra umph I haven't ruled out pulling the limiter for a couple of runs but at 1000 hp on a stock bottom end I would be rolling the dice (wont be the first time).

Here is a link to the Quick 30 event on Texas Speed Syndicate facebook page. I did a little investigation and I am telling you there are some FAST cars on this list (no mine isn't one of them), lol! Once there scroll almost all the way down until you see the Quick 30 event for 8/26, hit the "more" button and the driver list will open up. I am the last entry on the list at #35. https://www.facebook.com/texasspeedsyndicate/

The lone Challenger entry, I googled the dudes name and that car is sick. It is a twin turbo set up for the Texas Mile but even so, it still runs 8's in the 1/4 mi. Check it out https://bangshift.com/general-news/c...-quarters-too/
Two GTR's were added to the list so I suppose the event being "closed" is rather fluid. Some of you local guys should sign up!!

I am thinking about going with a 15" rear brake conversion. My BMR race suspension is already set up for the 15".

Anyone have any negative thoughts about going with a 15" set-up?

I plan to be READY for the 8/26 track rental and I am cautiously excited about what the car will run. It will definitely beat 10.50 but by how much, I don't know

Get the brakes from carlyle for the 15" conversion, it will save you quiet a penny vs going with wilwood which don't even let you keep your e-brake intact
