I would take it back all together. We bought our 1LT w/ some extras for $27,000 out the door. Hell, we didn't pay much more for our (used) 2SS than what you did.

Give it back and get a better deal from somewhere else. I paid that much for my 1LT but also have a sunroof, and backup camera.

If you have to go back to credit union and tell them the situation. I'm sure they will work with you. If that doesn't work tell the dealer to give you more for your trade. Trust me they will do it. I own a car lot and I know what they are trying to do you. They think you will just give them the extra money so you can keep the car. Stand your ground and tell them you don't have the extra money. Or just go in and start crying. I know when a good looking girl comes in my dealership I always work harder for them. LOL Good luck!!!

Hold their feet to the fire. Demand that they take it back! If you were told that you will have to return it, don't let them weasil out of it!

Oh and if they had you sign up for an extended warranty, I'd would cancel that too.

First off, you are very pretty! If you have a boyfriend, hopefully big, take him along. If not, PM me and send me your phone number.
But seriously, this is an old scam of the dealer putting you in the car after signing the papers and then calling you back stating the financing didn't go through. You are in CA which has very strict consumer laws. Try calling the attorney general's office to see if you will get a 100% refund or if what they did is legal. It may be on their webpage as well. Also, you can tell your credit union what happened and see what they say, maybe they will finance you outright. This is complete BS though, they are hoping you are in love with the car, too embarrassed to tell family and friends what happened and will roll over on this. You may want to call Chevy Customer Service just to document this all. And finally, don't listen to all these guys on this site about what you paid for the car and what they paid, got to be the #1 lie here on the forum. If you are okay with the price so be it. |

it was 29,650 with no options...just a stock car. No warranty lo-jack...just the stock car. I thought things were going too smoothly to be getting a "deal". I'm feeling really screwed...maybe I should just give it back and start over...hopefully my trade in is still in the same condition.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. This purchase should be one of the best experiences you will have. List price without automatic would be right at $27,000 for a 2013 1LT (certain colors of paint cost slightly more). How did they get it up to $29,650? Auto trany and paint upgrade could get you up to $28,320 list price. What is the list price on your window sticker? What kind of car (year, miles, equipment and condition) did you trade in?
Dealers manipulate list price, invoice values, trade in values and financing all of the time. Its a shell game. .
