Someone called my 2LS "All show and no go."

I didn't want to debate the topic, as I suspect it was a combo of...

1) trying to be funny...

2) assumption based on it being the v6.

It's not like I did anything after market to make it flashier, or appear to be modified, it just is what it is.

Still, I wanted to be like, "Well, so and so has the same 0-60...or blah blah has the same power to weight ratio"...but I didn't want to come off like I'm trying to justify my car. :P

This is what idiots do, they always having something smart to say about someone else's car. Don't even worry about it man.

FYI, Im sure you don't mean to, but prepare for another V6 vs V8 thread

Oh boy, not my intent! At least (most?) V8 owners acknowledge that the V6 is a viable engine option. I recall someone here saying that, on the GM page, the V6 Camaro shouldn't be in the performance section (with the V8 Camaros and Corvettes).

Haha that is ridiculous. I think "Performance" is relative to the person driving it. To someone whos upgraded from a 150RWHP car to a 300RWHP would consider that a performance upgrade, but someone at 450RWHP might not call that performance, and someone who drives a 600RWHP might not consider a camaro SS as "Performance" hopefully that makes sense.

In the end who cares! Haha, all that matters is congrats on the Camaro!

That statement used to be true, so the old expression will stick. The 2005-2009 V6 Mustang was the epitome of that expression (the V8 was too ha!). Even if they made a 500 hp V6 that ran low 12's people would still say that because it wasn't as fast as the V8. Most of the people that say this don't have a single fast car in their garage line-up, so don't let'm drag you down.

Id agree if all you do is cosmetic upgrades and no performance upgrades. Same as these idiots with body kits on a cavalier and thinking they are paul walker

If it's a v6 or v8 who gives a shit! It's still a camaro just like the first one 47 years ago. You know in 1967 you could pay for a gallon of gas with a quarter or two. Now gas prices are up and won't stop. In order for car companies to produce cars that make them money and keep the model popular they try to combine power and fuel efficiency. And they did a pretty damn good job.

Don't listen to those people they are no better than anyone with a ZL1. Why didn't they get a Zl1? And someone with a Z28 has the right to say a ZL1 is all show and no go! So stuff it people. This isn't 1975 no more.. Camaros and Mustangs have 6 cylinders. Even F1 has 6 cylinder engines. A Camry that can compete on a 0-60 with a camaro. With that being said not all v6s are lame as shit anymore.

I was actually going to order a V6!

Then I heard the V8 and decided to skip the leather V6 and get a cloth V8 instead. 326 hp is MORE than enough!

That being said, I will usually poke a bit of fun at a v6 Camaro, but only in a friendly way. Hell--the specific output of the V6 is far superior to the specific output of the V8 and it's definitely a more efficient engine.

I've had both the V6 and V8. I think the V6 handled real good and had great acceleration. V8 is a little faster but I have only ever gotten 14mpg out of mine where I got 18 out of the V6. I notice that the most.

Check the hp on a '98-'02 LS1 Z28 once. And we thought that was fast.

You should have asked him where his Camaro was since he's so knowledgeable about them.
