Procharged my 1LE - Results

After the long research and going back and forth...I finally pulled the trigger and installed a Procharger system to my 1LE. Here is a snap shot of the results.

Prior: 93 Oct 419whp/429TQ - E85 449whp/460TQ
- Borla S-Type Axle back
- CAI Intake
- DSX Flex fuel kit

Current: 93 Oct 597whp/579tq
- Kooks 2” LT’s catless w/MBRP Catback
- D1SC procharger kit
- Stage II intercool/Race bypass valve

(Gain of +178Hp/150TQ on pump gas) No meth. overall very happy with the car and the way it responds! Can’t wait to get to the track this weekend and get some passes in. Need to pick up a drag pack ASAP.

Next steps are LT4 high side - Injectors and get E85 back in the car and a little porting love from Pray.

Awesome results!! This is what I want from my P-1X Stage II. Or at least very close.

Nice man, I am hoping to drop mine of for a D1SC in about 2 weeks, going with meth inj, the larger intercooler and the standard surge valve as the shop said there is no gain from the race surge valve and they are noisy as heck during normal driving.

I am hoping for over right at 600 at the wheels, shop said with the meth injection it shouldnt be a problem. They did say that even with the LT4 injectors and LT4 high side pump you still wont have enough volume to run E85 on the D1SC. Their shop car is on E85 and making well over 1400hp and holds the 6th gen record right now so I am going to heed their warnings, unless I find another $3k for the rest of the fuel system I need.

Good luck!

I think choosing the valve comes down to personal preference. It doesn’t bother me one bit. I like the sound. Also, first I’ve heard or seen not being able to run E85 on a LT4 set up....I could be wrong however.

Great move!
Is the job going to be done by B&R?
Are you planning on going forged internals (at least pistons)?

Nice!

Do you have a further away shot of the engine bay to get a better feel for placement, plumbing routing, engine cover mod, etc.?

Considering ultimately doing this, but going with the black crinkle finish (vs. the polished as shown) to make it more stealthy in the engine compartment.

ProCharger's facility is just a few blocks away from us in Lenexa. Toured there when they did my '06 C6 as one of the first C6 LS2 beta test cars for them before they shipped to tuners (with the DiabloSport hand held tune) back in 2005. They engineer and build good stuff.

Assume the SC gear whine is reduced now too with helical vs straight cut gears?

As of now I am just putting on the stock engine, part of the reason for the meth injection. I may also have them keep the tune on the safe side to keep the stress down.

Yes, B&R is doing it. They are only a couple of miles from my house.

Make sure you get a conservative tune, since pistons/rings are known to be at a very tight tolerance on the LT1 motors. Compression is also on the high side.

You are lucky to have B&R so close to your home. For me it would be a true experience to meet Ryan Martin and his crew at B&R.
Good luck and keep us posted on the developments. Would be great if you could upload pictures of the install
