Given that *most* buyers will be opting for the automatic transmissions, especially now considering they are the superior performers in the advertised 0-60 and suffer virtually no mpg penalty...I can see GM making the automatic standard equipment on all cars, with manual in both being a no-cost option...

Of course, I don't think there are very many cars that are quite as different from one another (auto/manual)...so who knows?

I just really hope the SS starts no more than 30K! If so then my options will put me around 33k. After taxes, liscencing, title, etc. I'll probably be around 35.5k!!! Hopefully!!! Lets pray together!!!

What accessories are you thinking about? And, what prices are you hoping for on each?

GM needs to quit toying with our emotions and just release the pricing next month with the allocations.

Also, as far as the auto vs manual on price, go look at chevy's website. How many cars come with a standard auto? Only platforms that don't offer a manual. You can't charge for a transmission unless it's optional. I imagine the Challenger is the way it is because the LX platform is auto-derived and putting the tremec into it required extensive reworking and engineering R&D. I see this as the exception, not the rule. Cars have always had a standard transmission and if the platform offers a manual it has almost always been a manual that is standard.
