I have the LFX in my truck. Getting ready to supercharge it.

My SS is at red line very often at the track. Lots of fun.

Pretty sure the factory rev limiter pull spark not fuel. I believe stock limit is 6600.

When I had the torque converter replaced under warranty the GM tech told me he did some programming on the shifts too. Before it was shifting about 6850ish, afterwards it was a couple shy of 7100 but I haven't redlined it in years.
More into performance wax and tire shine nowadays.
