LED engine bay wiring question.
I have my grill LEDs wired to the fuse box. When I put LEDs in the engine bay (plan to put a 3 ft strip on the top part of the bay and 3 ft strip on the bottom by the radiator), can I tie them all together? If so, what type connector would I use? Thanks for the help.

yes you can tie them together. you can get some t taps, those are probably the easiest.

Thanks! I know LEDs are low amps, just didn't know if I'd be able to tie all of them together. Is there a max I should be concerned about?

I had 16ft of LEDs, I think it was 300 LEDs all tied together in my engine bay and grill with no issues.

Good to know. How did you tie yours together? And as far as the wiring, did you leave them exposed or did you wrap somehow?

There is a lip under the hood where I put them. I am thinking about getting some wire loom though and hiding them better in there once it warms up a bit.

I would recommend an add-a-circuit like the on in this picture over a t-tap. It's a much more secure connection.

Where can I get that? Sorry to thread jack, but I'm hooking up a lighted bowtie, what size fuse should I use when going this route?

Thanks for the input. Actually I have a add a fuse for my grill leds. But I want to add a couple of 3 foot leds as well and was wondering if I can tie all the light strings together. I believe I have a 10 amp fuse in the "add a fuse".

I have mine wired exactly the same way and I have had no issues wiring multiple strips together. I also think I have a 10 amp fuse in mine.

You can pick these add-a-circuit's at any auto parts store. I got mine at the AutoZone near me. I think they run about $5 a piece. A 5 amp fuse should be fine for just a lighted bowtie.

Yep, it just replaces an existing fuse in the panel.
