Please note there is a difference between fastest (trap speed) and quickest (ET) in the 1/4 mile.

Dodge specifically said quickest.

Their website says 'The world's fastest 1/4 mile production car'.

Not according to the reveal. This is where the "issue" laid with me...it may be the quickest 1/4 mile production car for now, but it is not the fastest 1/4 mile production car, even now. Yet they said that, maybe the press material has since been corrected to quickest. Not sure...

Just so we're clear, don't forget the 100+ octane race fuel, slicks, skinnys and a custom aftermarket "stage III" tune which is all an option in the brochure (and required) making it the fastest production car on the planet.

Since we are twisting ourselves into knots over semantics...

If I eat a pie in 15 seconds and you eat one in 16 seconds, I ate a pie faster that you did. And it doesn't matter if at the end you were eating at a higher rate than me, I finished sooner than you did... so I did it faster.

Simple.

The Demon travels 1320 feet in a shorter period of time than any production car in the world. Therefore it does it faster than any production car in the world. Therefore it is the fastest.

Simple.

Where did they say slicks?

Context matters. In the context of drag racing, most associate quicker with ET, and faster with trap speed.

Cool car, I'm interested in seeing what it runs in owners hands.

All the cars could handle the course except the Dodges - they had to try to drift through the corners to get through and were therefore slow as molasses

You never once thought to yourself, "I wonder why I never see a 1/4 mi purpose built race car on the twisties?" Or, "Gee, why is the ZL1 so great at the 1/4 mi but gets dominated by the Z/28 on the track?"

Online articles said it though, so it must be true. Dodge released the first ever vehicle in history that can dominate both the 1/4 mi and twisties. They have Guinness book of records to prove it!

Here's one of the online articles I was referencing. Is CNN a reputable enough source, with a quote from an executive at FCA claiming it can take corners faster and stop better than the other cars in Dodge's performance lineup?

FWIW....Records are separate for E.T. and Top Speed....Top Speed record is for the fastest MPH at the top end....Lowest ET is not necessarily or automatically the fastest....
Sorry, it didn't copy and paste very well....but you get the idea....lol...

But, hey, that's just that silly old NHRA and their records...., (which the Demon is so proud to have been banned from....)

You didn't do it faster, you did it quicker. Quick refers to time, fast refers to speed or velocity.

I hope they do good with it. They've definitely stayed retro, muscle car, 1/4 mile vibe...

(Not sure where the gangsta-rap, thug life music and videos fit in, but oh well....I'm probably better off not knowing)....lol
