LS7 Greatness?
A lot of people have been talking about an LS7 camaro coming out for the 2014 production year and I was just wondering what is so special about an LS7 engine? (Is it something worth waiting for?) I understand that it is not confirmed yet, but I am very unfamiliar with this engine, so if anyone could provide a little info on it, it would be very helpful. I had planned on purchasing either a 2012 TF3 camaro or a 2013 1LE camaro but may consider waiting to see whether or not this will actually happen as it is so close.

It's the 7.0L engine in the 6th gen Corvette Z06. It's a high revving 505hp engine that's well suited to track driving. It's also very expensive. So if it goes into a Camaro it's gonna be a sizable expense to option for one.

But so far, they have not released exactly when that will be. But it won't be for the 2014 model year.

..although it has it's internal block weaknesses, as pointed out by engine builders, it's a 426 CID naturally aspirated fuel injection LSA motor, the pinacle of GM engine production and development. It's underpowered at 505 HP with much room for growth, as per EPA and GOV regulations. If one could afford to buy a crate motor and stick in the corner of the shop before it's production ceases, this would be the one, much like the LS6 motor of days gone by when they were available through GM parts.
