He's a design team manager for the Camaro, they had a meeting at Indy and told us things we weren't supposed to know, like his personal best 0-60 time in the car is 4.5 sec. Punter took him aside and grilled him for all kinds of goodies, I would consider him the most credible source.

One thing to consider also, that was this summer, they may have changed alot in bushing/shock/strut/spring settings for NVH. In other words, if the official numbers are lower, I will still consider Mr. Opp a most highly trusted source.

Pedders has their G8 pushing close to 1.0, the capability, if it isn't there, to get it there has pretty much already been designed.

Just so you all know, I've spoken with DMS, and I'm really impressed with that organization. I know Camaro 5 doesn't allow sponsors or endorse vendors. But, my personal opinion is these guys know their stuff. DMS (Mike) talked to me for about 45 mins and did a real good job explaining to me how there stuff works. Of course they want to sell a product. But they are also big fans of the car in general. If you have the money and want the performance I'd give em a call.

FWIW.

They had a great pre-purchase deal on their coilovers for Christmas! Probably get a few bushings sent with my order also. Now we just need the car to put em on and I'm gonna go play on the track at Hallett!

Mike (DMS) is a Great guy, and thank you for your good words in regards to Pedders. You are 100% right, we are car guys first, and business people second. I was a 3rd gen guy for 12 years, and i'm looking to see if i can make the 5th gen a possibility for me in the near future.

We are always available to answer questions, if we don't know we can at least give you an answer that is based on the experience we have with the G8.

thanks for the kind words.

Pete's G8, before the eXreme XAs were put on, recorded a .99g on a skid skid pad I believe that we did in Fredricksburg, TX. We had, hoever, a lot of problems with the parking lot surface. We were going to use the tarmack at the airport we were staying at until a rather ominous looking military helicopter landed so we stayed the hell away from it. So we used a parking lot down the street that was seriously rocky and destroyed one of petes tires near instantly.

The tires were the OEM 19s. Pete now has 275s on all 4 corners. But his car is now burried in snow, and is getting some custom body stuff done.

so there is no doubt he will be breaking the 1.0 g range.
