Question THINKING OF SELLING MY CAMARO

I ordered my car @ the begining of Jan. recieved it July 7th. I had wanted one since I first saw the concept in 2006 but now that I have it I am not that impressed with the car. The car looks good inside and out it is a 2SS SIM BLK interior polished wheels and CGM rally stripes. The one thing that concerns me most is I have driven manuals nearly 20 years and this car is not a pleasure to drive when it feels like the clutch never engages in the same place. If this doesnot change soon I will be selling the car. Any thoughts on what it may be doing. PS. and it is not the driver I have tried different ways to let out the clutch and always the same. The clutch feels like it has no forgiveness at all. The car only has 362 miles on it. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Ever consider taking it in to the Dealership to have a tech look at it? Could also be that the Clutch needs a little more break-in time. You're only at 362 miles..

Don't NEW manuals take a while to 'break in'? Or is that just another myth? Dunno.

I would have dealer check it, I can't imagine wanting to let mine go for any reason once I get it.

The clutch feel is ALLOT different than all the other Manual cars/trucks i have driven, feels like it's fully engaged 1in off the floor then you have a mile of nothing, it took me a good week to get use to it and have smooth non neck jerking shifts.

The clutch does make some weird noises that i have noticed. When the stereo is off (so i can hear everything) when shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 i hear a spinning sound like putting a ball bearing on your finger and spinning it. That's probably a normal sound but i have never heard the throw out bearing?? before like that. The sound is pretty noticeable when shifting between 3-4k at a slow pace not just jamming it into gear, just trying to shift "smooth"

Crap like this is so hard to explain...

I was just thinking to myself today how smooth the SS shifts. I've drove an '03 Mustang and that was very stiff for the 1st year and the clutch was touchy. You should definitely get it checked out. Is that your only concern with the SS or are there other reasons?

Thanks for the info. Mine seems very similar to yours in that it never feels like that the gears shift smoothly. This car seem like it wants to lunge back and forth when barely coasting in gear and you give it just a little gas and then it starts bucking

Also, be aware that there is the "Skip shift" feature that I think will make you shift from 1st to 4th when at a certain rpm....

Could be something with that?

Anywho, take it in and let the dealer look at it....

I felt that way at first too. Now I am up to 1300 miles in the car and it's fine. You just need to give it some time.

Dude... it's not broken in. You are not giving the car a fair shake.

Just keep driving it and after a while and the shifting will improve.

Good Luck

I probably will take it back to the dealer Mon. but the bad thing about it is that most of the techs have not even work on the new camaro much. I guess they will just have to kinda relate it to the corvette.
