Limited to street tires and 93, the 2650 could be the better choice with the softer hit and better cooling since these LT engines are octane limited on 93 and the IAT vs spark table needs to be conservative.

Back when you could get a 2650 for 5-6k you could make a case that it's the way to go in most cases. Now, it's not that easy because the cost savings by buying a ported stocker and selling stock vs buying 2650 and selling stock is a wider gap and leaves more money on the table for something like a Toohigh PSI port injection system.

The fuel system is the biggest hurdle on this platform. So a port injected, ported stock blower setup on E85 with all the fuel vs a 2650 on stock fuel system and 93 for around the same price, I think I would take the stock blower direction.

Then the caveat is setting up the Port Injection properly. As you and others have found it's not as easy as some have made it out to be. Once dialed in and functioning properly it looks like the cats meow, but I can see some still wanting to stay DI for the time being even though it costs a lot more in 2023.

Either way it's not super hard to make power in 2023. There is no wrong direction for the most part. If ya like the 2650 and want something different, then go for it. It will give you more room to grow if need be. The main thing is we get out and enjoy are cars and not bash each other's setups on the internet.

King, your line about the 'softer hit and street tires' is spot on, while I wasn't thinking this when I jammed the 2650 on my car, it is definitely nice that it doesn't completely smoke the tires when I stab it like a stock blower setup might with all of its torque way down low in the RPM range. Also I guess my clutch isn't taking as much of a beating...? The clutch in this car has been show to be good for some big power numbers as well, way above what I'm making. I've agreed with the 'use the stock blower' argument previously as it probably is the best way forward for most people. It'll make big power for the street with proper fueling. It has been about a year since I went down the 2650 rabbit hole and if I was starting again today, I probably would have ported the stock blower and done heads/cam on the car and called it a day. LTs are great for sound but still not needed until in the mid 700s or more.
