Have you read anything on the 1LE it is practically what everyone's Z28 cry is. Its labeled the 1LE now, we thought the ZL1 was a Z28 maybe the 1LE will really be a Z28. The 1LE concept is currently a stock SS with ZL1 components added to make it more "Z28."

Actually the ZL1 was going to be called the Z28..... but was changes a few weeks b4 the announcement

Camaro 1LE Concept

Born in the Camaro’s third generation and refined further in the fourth generation as a road-racing performance package, the legendary 1LE option code designation returns to the Camaro as a concept intended to carve up road courses. While only a concept, it borrows production components from both the Camaro SS and forthcoming Camaro ZL1 to deliver a competition-ready package. A Z/28 should be more than the 1LE. Adding the six pot ZL1 / CTS-V front brakes is cool. Electric PS will deliver a couple of extra rear wheel ponies. The consensus in this thread is the MR is not what the Z/28 buyer wants

If we are talking about off the shelf parts to make a Z/28 most in this thread would be more interested in what Chevrolet can leave out to save weight and what they can put in to improve performance.

Thinking out loud, a SS with heads and cam, CTS-V front brake upgrade, a square tire and wheel setup, a hoop to mount a five point harness and a Pedders Justice Suspension would run rings around a 1LE that would have to carry a low 40s price tag. We can get replica Z/28 badges to complete it.

After yesterday's pricing announcement, it is painfully clear the $40s have been abandoned out of necessity due to the high level of comfort and performance equipment the ZL1 features. So...

Less is more...

Let's get "back to basics". A more basic level of trim and doodads. A more basic powerplant, devoid of weighty power adders. A more basic suspension set-up, perhaps more akin to the SSX than the 1LE.

BASIC. 1SS platform. 1LS Trim.

PURPOSEFUL. A "driver's" car, NOT a "rider's" car. A car that encourages taking the l-o-n-g way home. A car all your senses respond to...

POWERFUL. A willing screamer. A throbbing exhaust note, basso-profundo. Simply a symphony, of expectation meeting actuality...building to a successful conclusion...a crescendo of sorts.

Care for a cigarette?

REWARDING. Personal merit achieved when you cut an apex just right, and thunder towards the next turn...on the two-lane OR at the track...

Pretenses absent; poseurs directed elsewhere...

LSX-427 w/ LSX-LS7 head assembly. However, this one is stroked and forged 9.1:1 compression around 500rwhp. NA, over 800rwhp. FI.

I'm not sure the 100 lb heavier LSX cast iron block is what we seek for a weight-conscious road-racy ZEE. For applications needing more than 500 rwhp without the added bulk or boost of a blower, the LS7 block will do fine. LPE's 681 hp L28 delivers well-into-the-5s to the rear grippers...

Understood. And the primary reason the LS7 comes under criticism is its reputation for not being boost-friendly.

However, the focus of this particular Z/28 Section (not to be confused with those threads so named that predate the ZL1's announcement) is boostless boogie...

Make no mistake, the LSX 376 is an awesome piece to build a mega-boost, mega-power strip-ripper from!
