Blackbee's Big Brother, The Red Baron

Short story first to set the scene. For those who don't know I traded Blackbee, my 2010 2LTRS A6, for a 2012 VR 2SS RS LS3. I had been thinking on it more and more the past year and alot while on vacation in Kauai and said screw it thats it. My wife, not to keen on the idea at first said just get it or it will keep on nagging at you. Blackbee was a great car and was flawless, no problems at all and did well for a modded v6, but Could never close the power gap enough to overcome the 3800 lbs it had to get moving, especially a low torque high revving v6 which really belongs in a much lighter car.You had to floor it to really go, which it did, But it always felt as if it was giving all it had and nothing left in reserve, no V8 torque!! It is what it is and thats o.k., just not enough for me and my past history.

Being a Camaro guy for 28 years and 450,000 miles in manuals and all v8's, the v6 and auto was fine for two years, but my true calling back to "The Dark Side" took over and as I liked the V6, I only liked it, great looking after the mods, but the power was lacking. My daily commute is still only 16 miles round trip in traffic, so back to the manual trans and I will deal with it long term as I have done so in the past.

Anyway, talked to my person where I bought Blackbee and said this time I needed a manual 2SS with or without sunroof.Well I had two choices in all of Southern Califronia and Airzona! All th rest were A6's! One car was a SIM no sunroof and the other was a VR with a sunroof. Well my wife loves the sunroof and Blackbee had one so the VR got the nod. Price was finalized and the trade in value for Blackbee also. They loved blackbee and I got top trade in $ for it, and I stripped all the mods I could and those are almost all sold already so that helps out also. On October 15th since I had a B-day party here for a grand daughter we finished up details on the phone, they picked up the car and another dealer, cleaned prepped and then at 7:45 pm delivered the car to my house. Later in the week after stripping Blackbee they picked it up as well, pretty cool!

So without furthur ado, Here is "The Red Baron" and the initial details:

2012 Victory red 2SS RS M6 with Hurst shifter and sunroof
# 27751 of the 2012 moder year

As of 10/29/2011, mileage stands at 486
MPG first two tanks at about 17(but who cares) I mention it as the v6 did only about 18.3 in the same conditions. On a short freeway test run on 10/28 it was doing 27 mpg, only 2 off the v6 when it was new on the same test area. And of course the power is

Awesome.
The thought of upgrading to an SS has been bugging me for some time now, but I have a hard time letting mine go.

Heritage grill and SS Fender emblems

Installed last night. The SS fender emblems blend into the red paint a bit but it is a subtle look. Kind of there and not there.
