2013 Winter Wheels and Tires

I haven’t seen a recent thread about snow tires and wheels so I figured I’d post a new thread. If there already is a more recent one, I’m sorry. =)

I recently purchased a 2013 2LT/RS and I will be driving it all year round. I live in NJ and the winters can be nothing or crazy. Since the RS comes with summer tires I decided to buy a 2nd set of (4) wheels and tires for winter.

The current stock RS package is
P245/45R20
P275/40R20

I am shopping on tirerack.com and not sure which package I should be getting. I am leaning towards 18” (more rubber and cheaper). And I’m thinking about Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow: 245/55R18.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which wheel size (17, 18, 19, or 20), which tire width (225, 245), or any other help or guidance?

Thanks!

Update: I think that tire is discontinued at that size?

You can run an 18 with a 225/60R18 Blizzak as a good set up. A 18 inch package is a good winter setup for the LT V6 cars.

So I think I decided on 18" rims and the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 - 225/60R18.

I'll probably go with the 18" Sport Edition F11 Silver Painted as they look pretty close to stock.

Any extra thoughts or opinions?

17" wheel and snow tire packages work great too on the LT!

I have slightly used set for sale! Platinum Monarch 17x7.5" wheels w/ 225/65R17 Blizzak DM-V1. Only used for one winter. They worked great. I'm asking $900 OBO + Shipping (don't know what shipping would be to NJ from UT though). If you're interested OP, PM me!

Same car, slightly different question from someone who knows very little about snow tires. I have the 2013 2LT/RS with factor 20 inch wheels.

P245/45R20
P275/40R20

My plan was to replace the factory wheels with a nice set of custom wheels and use the factory wheels, with a new set of snow tires, for winters, and transfer the Pirelli Pzeros to my new wheels. So I noted the guy who started the thread discussed going to an 18 inch for winter. Is that necessary or would using the original factory wheels be okay? Looking at TireRack.com, it recommended a set of Pirelli Scorpions for the 20 inch rims.

My biggest concern with putting snow tires on the stock RS package rims woudl be how wide the tires are.

Usually you would want skinnier tires in the snow but honestly I'm sure just getting snow tires will be fine. They made a HUG difference and I am so happy I spent the money.
