I'm talking MSRP for the car. I know that you can get a 1SS for just over $30k now, because GM is giving them away to move units. |

Good points all. I think what most people want from this new gen stylewise is something that doesn't look like a '15 body refreshed. Most of these camo cars look that way. I think it's very safe to say that none of us are worried about the powertrain, it's what makes GM #1.
But I do believe the prices are getting too high for the second tier muscle car. Seriously, the price of the ZL1 and Z28 were in the range of a nicely equipped Corvette and the Corvette has better tech and handling.

Complaining about pricing of a car nobody knows much about. And some even misquoting prices of the cars for sale now... That is funny.

I suspect that the spread will be more than the Gen 5. GM will have to hold the base price for no other reason than Ford did with the Mustang. But I believe that $37,000 2SS will likely hit $40 for the Gen 6.
Look at what happened with the Tahoe/Suburban. Lower tier pricing only went up slightly but LTZ variants are over $65,000 which used to be Escalade territory. But the Escalade went further up market as well. So it will have to remain affordable, but my guess is the base car will hold price but with a 2.0T and if you want a V6 you'll pay a few thousand more. But I also believe that overall this will be a significantly and noticeably superior car to the Gen 6. A lot will depend on how the car is contented. Also anyone think we'll see this new "Premium" trim level announced for the Malibu?

Do you mean for the Camaro? I hope not, Camaro "Premium" does not sound right.

$33,500 + 1,000 + 1,000 + 1,000 + 2,000 = $38,500 for a 1SS with NO options other than an auto transmission. Making an argument based on MSRP alone is a poor way to gauge pricing of this car, because it doesn't come close to representing the actual cost to take one home. |

...Maybe for a Pepto-Bismol salesman or the interior of a Mary-Kay car....but for Camaro, I don't think so....

It seems strange to me to have a Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Malibu and Impala Premium replacing the LTZ, but not even have an LTZ for Camaro or Corvette. But hey, Chevrolet can be as inconsistent as they want as long as they show us pure awesomeness on May 16.

Have to keep in mind that a fully loaded 2015 Malibu will run you $36,000 and that's if you don't check the all season floor matt and accessory packages.
Do the same for an Impala and you are at $41,000. Annnnnnd neither of those have Brembo brakes, V8 engines or 8 speed transmissions. Jump to my garage mate SS and you are now at $47,000. Just keep those upper end prices in mind.
