I love it! Isn't it back pressure? How does tuning get rid of it?

It is an intoxicating sound. No it is decelerating backfiring. Just gas being burnt up in exhaust I believe. Like when you turn off a lawnmower at full throttle. But more awesome and less scary.

The bigger the camshaft, the more overlap it will have and the potential for more fuel to escape right out the exhaust. The popping you hear is fuel vapor igniting in the pipes. A good tune can virtually eliminate it by tweaking the a/f ratio and getting it lean. There's no guarantee that it will be 100% gone though.

Ted Jannetty tuned mine out also... I kinda liked the popping but with headers I thought it might be too loud.

My V6 does it. My only mods are in my sig. Seems like it does it more now that I've put 10k miles on the axle backs

OK...what I want to know is how to reproduce this decel pop at will with the automatic. I know I can get it to do it while just revving the engine in park or neutral...someone once posted something on here about going into paddle shift mode and 2nd gear will do it? If that's accurate, what's the best way to get it to pop while in 2nd while decelerating, or is there nothing really reliable, other than getting an M6 and revving it in neutral...lol...Now that I read this back it seems like a stupid question, but I'm going to post it anyway...

X4.......... At start up with my Solo Axle Backs it's snap, crackle, pop
then followed up with a deep rumble. And MrPace- The A6 has nothing to do with it-
You need a good aftermarket muffler delete exhaust system.

When my car was stock, it didn't bother me.

Catback exhaust made it more apparent, and it annoyed me.

Headers + no cats increased it further, it pissed me off, and people kept giving me that, "what's wrong with that POS" look.

Installed may cam and tuned that shit out.

Car sounds badass and I'm smiling.
