I was so happy to see this post! I was starting to feel bad about the 46,000 miles on my 2011 2SS/RS. I don't drive it in the winter as the crap they use on our roads in Idaho ruin everything aluminum, and I do have an older car to drive in winter. I never intended to daily drive it, but......Camaro - or 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. Right? What would any self respecting muscle car lover do?

Hence the 46,000 miles!

Issues I've had: harmonic balancer replaced, rattle in sunroof fixed, rattles in speakers ....well, they still rattle. Now have a weird squeak..not sure if it's under the dash or engine compartment. Dealer hasn't been able to find it. (eye roll).

these issues tick me off, but I still LOVE the car - every day - every mile I've driven her! I consistently get 22 sMiles per gallon.

I have 86K on mine and have had zero issues aside from a blown headlight.

Aside from the usual (brakes, tires, etc) I have had no extra money go towards fixing issues.

This car is a champ! (Knock on wood)

I DD my SS Auto L99 120 miles everyday without any issues and gets 22mpg, it's a 2013 I bought in December of 2013 and so far 12k miles later...ZERO issues.

BTW, my SS has Nitto Motivos. Motivos are nice for sure! 6.2L will run on other than premium but the ECM will 'adjust' for the lower rated fuel.

2010 2SS RS
93000 Miles
Drive winter, spring, summer and fall
Use plus not premium gas
First 2 years drove over 100 miles a day and now drive about 80 miles a day and she is going strong...spend the money on good winter tires and keep up on the maintaince and u will be fine

I'm glad to see so many people with SS's daily driving them. I just traded in my 1lt I was talking about in my last post for a 2SS and this thing is so nice that I don't want to daily drive it, heh. But I can now answer the question about insurance price for people who's went from the V6 to the V8. Insurance only jumped up $20.54 a month! Average gas mileage on the DIC was 23MPG on the V6 and my initial MPG on the after resetting it before taking it home V8 is now at 20.5MPG and I was even stuck at light after light in the city area and bumper to bumper traffic on the interstate on the way home with it. Not too shabby!

I can't answer most of your questions because I only have 900 miles but I run reg unleaded in mine for the last 2 tanks and the car performers great and zero engine knock or detonation

Put premium in it.... Too slow on regular

I would really say look into a clear bra for the long drive DD... I am not a fan of it on the hood but on the front lip and side mirrors for sure!
