Swapping from TR6060 to 4L80E

I got a quote today for 9500$ to swap over to 4L80E. Guys who have made the swap is that about right . That's a lot of money to go automatic I cant wrap my mind around 9500$.

personally sounds high...depends on the 4l80 and how bullet proof it is...I got a stage 4 with computer and a bad ass stall , tranny cooler and all parts needed for around 4k shipped from jakes..depending also on driveshaft ...I went carbon fiber ...most don,t go with a stage 4...or a cf driveshaft...but if you did , this would put in at a 5000.00 labor charge for a days work...

That is a lot of money for the swap.

After recently doing this swap I had 250 for a flywheel (coming from a auto) 650 for a harness, a what would be 4000 for a 1000hp transmission, 600 for a driveshaft and 1000 for the converter. With all my parts I was at 6500 you might be around the same coming from a m6 because I was able to use the stock shifter and parts. The only thing I could think of in that price would have to include install and the tune for it. So depending on the shop rates it might not be out of the realm of possibility.

I don't know that everyone would need a $4,000 transmission. I see drivable cores for <$600. I guess an billet input shaft and other upgraded parts could run up the price.

Ok is jakes doing the install because some things on this list are ridiculous. First off the driveshaft is 650 on driveshaft shops website not 800 so that's way to high. And what do you need a yoke for its a slip yoke style that comes on the driveshaft and mates directly to the intermediate shaft in the transmission so there's 275 dollars I saved you. Labor at 80 an hour well that's about average. Are they going to do the tuning? Also have them give you a breakdown list explaining the price.
