Magnetic Ride Control for 5th Gen SS

What'll it take? How much would it cost? I wonder.

Experts out there - what would bring better performance - without roughening the ride too much, with the Hotchkis race set?

Coilovers - been looking at these Megan's which look decent.

1LE Shocks - I'm hearing and reading good things. Maybe this is all I need to complete my suspension.

MRC - Magnetic Ride Control for my 5th Gen SS. Is there such a thing? A quick search didn't bring up any results, maybe I broke the internet or something. Chevy guys in the 'know' - anything coming up or is this available now? Link please! And alas, would this complete the suspension?

Other - please share. Thanks!

To my knowledge I don't think there is a "Mag-Ride" kit for regular SS V8's...

Would be awesome as this is what makes the ZL1 a great car IMHO. But to do this would require a ECU flash to incorporate the PTM settings to take full advantage of the mag-ride.

I think the closest you will get is coilovers set up...

Interesting. Maybe an aftermarket 'mag-ride' system need not tap into the ECU, and could be controlled or switched between different settings by a dash remote or something? Why would the Vehicle ECU need to be involved if it had its own ECU built in?

PS, not in the market right now for a ZL1 lol Splitter, gotta love your sense of humor... what I am in the market for is the next best boost to the Hotchkis set from the thoughts of those who love to race, and perhaps from the Hotchkis guys themselves...

I want to get this air suspension kit one day.
Hit a button on the dash like the VTC and change how it handles.

And we remove the F45 option from our C5 Corvettes when one of more of those shocks go bad and they want upwards of $1000 each for replacements. In-goes normal shocks and a reprogram to remove the option. I have these on my Buick Lucerne, though we can't change settings like we could on the 'Vette. So far they are still working, but it's just a matter of time.........

Why did you leave out the Z/28 suspension kit?

The 1LE shocks/suspension tuning is very well sorted out, make no mistake about that one.

When my 1LE shocks and springs wear out, I'd love to try the Z/28 kit, just to see....

I forgot about the Z/28. I think I've got a great suspension set up now and that I'm just missing some better shocks... I wonder what the difference is between 1LE and Z/28 shocks.

Love the air bags too but too costly for me right now. If I had the dough, it'd be a toss up between that, and an SC or Turbos.

The Magnetic Ride Control Upgrade is available, it's about 60k plus trade in.

Inexpensive coilovers will give you good results
Expensive coilovers will give you great results.
The more you spend the more you get, (for the most part) when it comes to coilovers.

Gaining Performance with out loosing comfort is very difficult. Quality coilovers are about the only way that you can achieve this.

Exactly. Unfortunately you can not retro fit it. It is looped in with everything else in the car. Sure would have been nice if the production 1LE had it like the concept did.
