Wow. That's a sad story. dtm4192: I feel like punching your dad in the face.
The bright side is that dsirmans clearly is going to put her life into this car. It isn't going to be another "Enterprise Rent-A-Car" for someone to romp into curbs with! I always wonder about where my truck went... It was a 2002 GMC Sierra K2500 Ext. Cab SLE - Summit White. I loved that truck. It ranks up with my Camaro as far as fun-factor. It did have a 6.0L V8 and 4.10 gearing. Leaving a note is a great idea! I'll have to do that when I sell a vehicle of mine.

I remember very well the story of the note and having to give up the car. Amazing. Take good care of that car. She's extra special.

This thread is proof these are not just cars, not just a means of transportation. I feel bad that the young man had to give up his car, I know it must of been hard to do, it would of killed me, but to find it found its way to someone who will value it and treat it how it should be treated almost makes up for the sad back story. Add in the fact the legend of the 5th gen world left his mark on it, and it is almost unbelievable. Maybe by Scott signing it, it was destined it for greatness.
You have this story, and then the Papa Johns Camaro, and countless other awesome stories of these cars, they quickly take on a life of their own. Most people don't understand why I love these cars so much, but boy am I glad you guys are out their to share these amazing cars with. Anyways, congrats on the amazing car, victory red looks amazing on a muscle car.. Hopefully your car is everything you dream it to be and more. Maybe one day our paths will cross and I can see it in person. |

Very bittersweet story. Congrats to dsirmans! And to dtm4192: we all hope you find your way into 5th gen ownership again some time soon!

Dan's story made me make an attempt to locate the car I traded in for the Camaro last October. Some of you might have seen that I traded in a 2002 Roush Mustang that my husband had babied for the last 8 years. We had really made it our own, supercharged it, customized the grill, taken it to many shows and was signed by Jack Roush and many of the Roush/Fenway Nascar drivers. It was a beautiful yellow convertible. After much anguish, I decided I wouldn't be able to take care of it the way it deserved without my husbnad. I hope that someone got it who will take good care of it. Roush owners have a forum like this one, and I still have lots of friends there. I have posted up and hope someone will appear on that website sooner or later and we can find each other. I have so many extra goodies for it that I did not give to the dealer. I'm hoping that the "new owner" would like them. PS: That is NOT me, professional model.

Wow, great story! Something to be a proud owner of, do enjoy that car! I hope to get Scott to sign my strut tower, as he had a big part in my getting my SS! Thanks again, Scott if you do read this post! I just may put my story under the battery if I ever sell it! ;')
Long live the fond memories we all acquire with these great cars! They weave themselves into the fabric of our lives like no other car! eB
