No, when the throttle is closed there is no fuel spraying in to the cyls and that's just the left over burning off on over rev. No big deal.

I wouldn't expect the production version to sound quite that good though. I doubt it'll pass EPA noise abatement testing with that setup.

The ZL1 looks like it's gonna be a great package. I wish they could do something to clean up those hoses coming out the front of the engine cover. That looks terrible.

It's my opinion the crackles are from the engine being cold and not up to operating temperatures. I know my '02 would pop and fart through the LTs and CB when cold, and bet all that goes away after evering thing's warmed up.

Thats one of the first things I will change is to clean up the engine bay.
The current way it looks , so thats gotta change, unless they
clean it up before final production.

The engine sounds awesome in person, my wife and I really enjoyed hearing it.

A couple of those are intercooler hoses, so I'm sure finding some alternative wouldn't be hard to do. I agree that something should be done to clean those up.

IF we do a resonator delete on the ZL1, would it effect the dual-mode exhaust function?

Sounds like crap when there is no load on the engine.

Exhaust sounds from ZL1 track videos are so much sweeter to my ears.

I'd say the videos in the OP are about 30-35% quality compared to the real thing sitting right next to you.

Of course, rolling around will sound better, but trust me when I say those videos don't do it justice.

yup.. sounds good but want to hear it myself in person. I cannot wait until the real street and strip tests start. I am looking forward to seeing what the final horsepower will be. The rumor of 570 sounds good. The CTS-v is 556 The dual mode exhaust on Vette adds 6 HP on a 430 horse 6.2. So even being conservative.... 562 HP. The exhaust is a lot better on the ZL1 than CTS-v so I am sure they picked up some more HP. Hoping for 575+

Can't wait to be able to order one.
