OOO I'm glad to see Adam's has a matte detailer now.

I'm currently going through my bottle of Chemical Guys matte detailer, which I would highly recommend, but it honestly looks like your previous owner did not take care of that vinyl at all. I would try the chemical guys or adam's matte detailer (since if you rewrap you'll want that product anyway whenever you clean the car), but it really does look like you might need a re-wrap on that thing.

Yes I have def thought about re wrapping it but I was hoping to maybe fix it without the pricey way of truly correcting the issue.

3M matte black wrap from Amazon is maybe 50 bucks and with some youtube and a heat gun and water sprayer bottle, the hood is not too bad of a job to do yourself.

Then definitely TRY the proper cleaner first, because you'll need that anyway if you do rewrap the hood to clean the new vinyl.

But it's vinyl, it's not like you can buff it out like clear coat.

Yeah that looks nasty. Looks like the car sat outside for years under a tree and wasn't washed or anything. Almost looks like mold.......

Did you try to clay bar it? The edge of the hood by the hashmark looks like wax, I dont think the wax look will come off but the other mold looking stuff might. Clay bar I would say is the most aggressive step. You could try some 50/50 water/rubbing alcohol, but I've had better luck with the clay bar.

Just washed and used Adams matte detailed today. That didn’t work so I tried clay bar and that didn’t work either. Guess I just have to re wrap

Matte detailer is just to remove dirt and dust. You need something slightly abrasive like a fine polish, followed by something like svrt
