Starter runs but car does not start

When I try to start my 2010 Camaro SS the starter continues to run but the car does not start. It only happens after I have driven the car somewhere then stopped for about a half hour then try to start it again. It as if there is no spark, or a fuel pump problem??? It happened 3 times over the weekend so I took it to the dealership and of course it didn't happen there. The day after getting the car back I drove about 35KM's then stopped for lunch, went back to start the car and it happened again! The dealership said there was nothing wrong but I tend to disagree! Anyone out there with the same issue?

what does the voltage read when it doesn't start?

are you leaving anything on in the car when it isn't running?

how are you getting it to run after it doesn't start? are you jump starting it?

possibly a bad battery, or something is draining the power inside the car.

voltage reads 12.

the only thing plugged in or on when car is off is my ipod.

so far it has always started right away on the second try.

Disconnect your battery in the trunk, not underhood, for about 1-2 minutes and then reconnect, it may be a relearn issue. Mine did this after a tune, but I've heard of it happening in non tuned cars too, something about a fuel modual not resetting properly. Worth a try.

thanks, will do, having the battery in the trunk is a pain. Learned that one when I changed the exhaust.

That is a common fuel pump problem. Pump will work fine when it is cold, like the first start of the day. Once it gets warm after a long run it won't pick up the fuel. Worn parts and heat expansion, bad pump coil that fails when warm, whatever. Find a new dealer!

To me, it also sounds like a fuel issue. I am taking it back in today because the car is definitely not right. It happened 4x yesterday. And if they don't fix it or take a suggestion then yes I agree, it's time to take it somewhere else.

I'm having the same ISSUE!!! However my car just will not start AT ALL NOW.. it just cranks and cranks. I have NO spark what so ever... I took one of the coil plugs off and tested it with a screw driver to see if i could get it to arc.. and there was nothing!!! Did ur dealer ever find the problem?
